Recently, President Obama has gotten a popularity boost due to the capture and killing of Osama bin Laden, which some say secured his reelection in 2012. Do you think President Obama should be reelected? What do you think his chances are? Use facts and logical arguments to support your view. If you disagree with someone else's view, remember to disagree without being disagreeable.
A fun website I found for evidence: http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/ (It doesn't have older achievements, such as the huge health care bill.)

Just because Barack Obama killed Osama bin laden doesn’t mean that this world is over, it just made it a lot worse because now all of his people are gonna try and kill us which is not a good thing because we don’t need no more lives taken. Even though Osama is responsible for 9/11 does not mean we should have killed him, he should at least been brought to trial, but then again he might find a way to escape and have connections with people to probably blow up the jail and he can get out. Do you think President Obama should be reelected? –I can argue both sides because yes because he did all of us a favor by wiping out the most violent enemy Osama and he made all of the Americans happy. But then he shouldn’t because that shows how immature and weak we are to go along and kill our enemies. We could at least act like mature people and talk things out with people from Pakistan. Know us Americans have to be very aware of our surroundings because we never know when we can be attacked at because Osama’s people are very violent and crazy and they would even committee suicide to prove their point. I feel that we are gullible just like Osama and his people because killing Osama was a great example of how gullible we are because we falling into their immature violent fight. I just hope this war and fight can end and they don’t try and kill barack Obama next because that’s most likely going to happen beings that we killed their leader. I don’t want to lose my life on no airplane because of the fight between Obama and osama, I want to live my own life and a lot of innocent people can get killed. But Obama should be elected but then again he should not.
ReplyDeleteBarack Obama won the 2008 election becoming the first African American president of the United States, and the 44th president. Most of his promises he made, he kept those promises. I believe Obama should be reelected in 2012 for many reasons.
ReplyDeleteOne of his campaign promises was the killing of Osama bin Laden which most people was glad of and have currently gain a popularity boost for him. Ever since the tragic event of what happen September 11, 2001, Osama bin Laden was on top of the FBI most wanted list. This event happen when George Bush was president. Obama also wanted to crush al-Qaida. He was focus on security reasons for the United States. It took 10 years to find him; however, the U.S. government found him in Pakistan in this home and the U.S. shot and killed him.
I also believe he should be reelected because the president before him, George Bush left the White House and the economy in a mess. The economy is now and currently in a recession, which is a general slowdown in the economy. Obama have tried his best to get the economy back on track and stabilize. Along with this, he has also focus on the people of America which was another of one of his campaign promises which is to provide a path for citizenship for undocumented immigrants. He said “a system that allows undocumented immigrants who are in good standing to pay a fine, learn English, and go to the back of the line for the opportunity to become citizens." This plan is now in the works and he is currently working on getting this issue done.
He also focuses on securing the borders from illegal immigrants which can “bring personnel, infrastructure and technology” which might can harm the United States. This involved the Homeland Security which provide security to the Americans in case of an outside attack such as terrorism. This campaign promise is also in the works. During his campaign, he gain most of the popular votes because his empathy and genuine help for middle-class Americans, steady leadership and calm attitude, fair, cost-effective health care insurance, withdrawal of combat troops from Iraq, and Joe Biden as running mate.
In conclusion, although some of his campaign promises was broken such as signing the Employee Free Choice Act and making it easier for workers to unionize and create a foreclosure prevention fund for homeowners; however, most of them are in the works or promise kept. He also currently helping America’s weakness in order to try to get the economy stabilizes. He will make a great President in 2012.
Yes I think Obama should be reelected for a second term because he is trying his best to solve all the problems that the world is facing and if he does get a second Obama would be able to fix them. People feel like Obama is not fixing certain situations like health care, economy, employment and others but Obama is actually one person that has the whole world on his back and he is not able to respond and resolve the nation’s problems, even if there is someone else taking over the country who is to say that he or she is going to solve the nation’s crisis in the way the people wants it. The Americans have to realize that Obama did solve the major concern that we faced which was killing Osama Bien Liden, now the soldiers that are in Iraq can make it back home to their families in one piece. Killing Osama is one step closer to solving any other situations just give it some time and he will get the job completed to the point where the next president would just finish off the rest.
ReplyDeleteI think Obama chances are like 60 percent chance of winning because a few people would vote for Obama for the right reasons and others would vote for the other candidate for the stuff that he claim he is going to do. Like I said before, who ever is the next president will not be able to clean up the nation’s crisis as fast as you think, it will take a lot time before that happen, so people would have to deal with life the way it is and work harder then they usually do to make their life more easier. People have to stop waiting on the government to help you before you go out and work so you can support yourself enough and if the government can help and see that you and your family need it, they would give it to you so just keep your head up and try to make the best of what you got because the president and his government can not help you if you don’t put enough effort into helping yourself.
I do believe current President Barrack Obama has earned his right to serve a second term as the President of the United States for a number of different reasons. One reason I believe he has earned this is because of his work with the economy and health care. Although it took some time he was able to make changes in both of these areas, he was able to enact health care reform causing it to become more suitable for the people, it has become more affordable, expands coverage to more Americans and holds ensures more accountable. The economy has been steadily improving because more jobs have been created and the stock market is regaining its status. Since the housing market crashed big banks have become more accountable and cautious with whom they approve housing loans to. During his presidency Obama has tried to bridge the gap between the democratic and republican parties for the benefit of the American people. Both parties have significant oppositions against each other and as the presidential leader of our country Obama has been trying to decrease the differences between the two so he can run the county the best was possible. Obama has been under appreciated throughout his term by a large percentage of the American public which is very disappointing because he is doing as good as most other presidents in their first term. He has been subjected to something no other previous president has had to do which is show his birth certificate to the public proving himself as an American citizen. Although it was not mandated for him to release this document he felt a little pressured to do it because of all the negative attention that was being attracted to his presidency. This act is seen as very disrespectful and seems to have only been done because he is the first African American president. The killing of Bin Laden was a major event in his presidency but it should not be the main highlight of why the public should reelect him.
ReplyDeleteAs with any election there is controversy surrounding the elected person. When Obama was elected president in 2008 different people and groups were supportive and others were furious. So does the assassination of Osama bin Laden increase his chances of getting reelected in 2012? I believe that if Obama wanted to run for president again next year, he would be reelected because he has been doing a the best job he can so far as president. I am pretty sure people will vote for him next year because he did not finish his plans as president and they would want him to do all that he can. I also do believe that the execution of bin Laden under Obama's presidency increased his
ReplyDeletechances for next year. After the terrorist attack on the Twin Towers on 9/11/2001, it took ten years to find the person responsible for the tragedy. With President Obama the impossible became possible. By allowing him another term another miraculous event might happen. I surveyed a few people and most of them said they would vote for Obama again without hearing his running speeches for the new term. The minority said that it depends on the person he is running against. Even if people do not believe that he has done well as president so far, they should still be opened to giving him another chance so he can prove himself worthy of the presidency. Though it seems ideal for one to want to reelect Obama, nobody should actually decide until he creates speeches that will convince citizens to vote for him. If I were able to vote and he created a self reflection speech of his presidency I would probably vote for him because I know that he knows what he has to change and improve.
I have never been one to dabble in politics, but when the subject involves my future in this country I do believe I have a say in that matter. I am a believer that Barack Obama should be reelected back into office. I am not only saying this because he is the first black president this country has ever seen. I am saying this because he has been a good president to this country and he deserves our support. I am referring to the African American population here in America. They don’t think that he should be reelected because of the things he promised America but did not come through on. I may believe that the Osama murder was a plot to get Obama a better chance of getting reelected. I do not think that he would purposefully arrange the murder of a man just to get back in the good graces of America. That would pure evil, and I do not think Obama is capable of something of that nature. Our past presidents….I’m not so sure about them. I think everyone is making a big deal over the Obama reelection fiasco. If they’re going to vote him in or out is beside the point, what is best for our country isn’t. I do believe that Obama is what is best for our country; he has proven this before on many occasions. I also believe that the people who don’t reelect Obama again for president are being a little hypocritical. They said that they would stand by Obama whenever anything were to happen and yet here they go about to throw him out as though he weren’t the man they elected in the first place. That would be wrong and unfair to Barack. It would be very terrible to think that his whole country would turn their back on him in his time of need. What kind of country would we be if we allowed ourselves to do that to him. We wouldn’t be better than any of the countries that we are fighting these terrible wars with today. In fact we may even be worst. So on that note if I were able to vote I would definitely vote Barack Obama back into office.
ReplyDeleteMany people have doubted President Obama’s ability to produce results as Commander and Chief since his election in 2009. The terrorist Osama bin Laden has been being searched for since his attacks on the World Trade Center in September 2001. He was apprehended and killed during the presidency of Barack Obama, and yet people still have the audacity to doubt him.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, I do believe that the death of Osama bin Laden influences President Obama’s chances of winning the 2012 elections. It took former president George Bush eight years to find Osama bin Laden, and even after his presidency was over he was unsuccessful. After a little over tow years in office, President Obama managed to achieve what Bush could not in eight years. I believe that President Obama has somewhat guaranteed his re-election, but there will always be people who doubt him.
One factor besides the death of Osama bin Laden that has proved President Obama to be a competent president was the health care bill he passed. Like all presidential candidates, during his campaign President Obama promised the people of America change in the nation’s economy. President Obama has actually come to successfully make those promises a reality, or is in the process of doing so. He actually intends to change the nation for the better; those were not just empty promises. He raised the hopes of the nation’s people, and with all the will he has, plans on keeping true to his word.
I do think President Obama should be re-elected, because no matter what his past is, or what people’s individual opinions of him are; the results he gets as president are undeniable. Unfortunately, people view his heritage as a legitimate reason to write him off, and assume he’s incompetent. In reality, he’s capable of doing more than people give him credit for. He is currently in the process of making some of his previous promises into reality, but most people do not desire to give him the time to make that happen.
I think it’s great that President Obama got a popularity boost because deserves it. For many years our previous president, President Bush claimed he could not find Osama Bin Laden, the leader of the Taliban. President Obama has working on 9 out of 15 of his promises and has compromised on 1. I feel like he is doing very well for someone that some people did not believe in. More than anything I believe people only took a chance on him. I think the most important thing that people should see from a president, is to see that they are trying. From what he has accomplished so far we can see that he has been busy. He has not been wasting the American people’s time. I believe that our government works very slowly because of the Checks and Balance system. This is a system that does not allow one branch of government to have more power than the other. For President Obama to have accomplished this much in one term is a beautiful thing and shows that maybe, just maybe Americans have gotten better at choosing Presidents. I don’t believe that President Obama has been a failure as our American President. Most likely he has been doing his best for the American people. I also believe that like many other politicians he has said certain things that were not the complete truth. Though it would be nice to have a president or leader to tell you the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help them God; we have to admit to ourselves that most politicians are not truthful. The most important thing to them is winning and if they have to lie to do so, then so be it. I do not believe that killing Osama secures President Obama’s chance for reelection, because until that time comes we never know who will run and the American people might believe that a new person that is running will be better for the job. More than anything people enjoy running their mouth. Over all I just believed that people were shocked and surprised that President Obama found and killed Osama. Something that former President Bush made seem impossible.
ReplyDeleteI believe that Obama should be re-elected in 2012 due to the fact that Obama has not been able to prove exactly everything he wanted to do so far because when he took control over this country it was left in a horrible state. He took office after President Bush and the economy or shall I say the whole government was a complete wreck. Obama has only been able to do a few things since he took office and one I know is the health care system. Obama has to get this country back on it's feet in order to accomplish the things he want to see done in this country before this term is up. I believe giving him another chance to redeem his self is necessary because a lot of citizens don't have faith that Obama can do the things that he says he would like to do. I think his chances are higher than usual ever since this Bin Laden death because now their seeing what Obama can do for this nation. Most of Obama's promises have been kept. and I think we the people should give him another chance to prove himself.
ReplyDeleteI feel that Barack Obama should not be re-elected. He should let someone else get a try at what he has not yet done. To me,nI feel that he hasn't been a great president and that our country has gotten worst. Besides the minor changes he have made, their are only i few that i can remember that he did. Like the assassination of Osama Bin Laden. Im not saying that Obama was a bad president. I Just feel that he could have done more and worked harder. I will not fall for the excuse he uses which is that he haven't been in office long enough. He has been in office long enough to have been made an dramatic change. I also hope that if Obama does get re-elected that he doesn't do what bush did. I feel that all of the years President Bush was in office was just a waist of precious years. He was re-elected and still made no change in my eyes. But yet, i do not want to speak so fast because i am not to sure of what Obamas goals and plans are. I just would like a president that would make an positive effect by being in office not worse. I will feel a type of way if a white male is elected to be president in 2012 by the way though. I do love having an black president but just because Obama is half my race doesn't mean that i will not speak on his doubt's as a president. The economy is really bad right now and the crime rates are continuing to rise! So in the end, no matter who comes into office we all pray that he or she help these problems be reduced. I believe many of the presidents just make up things that they would do before they become officially president. They make up a whole lot of good ideas and what they would do better speeches but thats all just for them to get picked for the president spot. And i do not like things and people like that who are which the latest presidents we have had. As you can see, I do not judge people by who hey are, I judge them by what they bring to the table and that is why i strongly feel that Barack Obama should not be re-elected.

ReplyDeletePresident Barack Hussein Obama has always had my support ever since he became president, not because he was black, but because of his political views and background information. I personally think Barack should be elected not because of the death of Osama Bin Laden, but other achievements he has accomplished. Like for instants, Barack has received the Noble Peace Prize during his early days as president which is a great honor anyone can have. Another reason why Obama should be re-elected is because of George W. Bush. When Barack came into office, the economy was completely in a mess, and out of the 8yrs Bush had to find Osama, it took Barack only 2 years worth of his term to find Osama Bin Laden. To me, that truly is something really amazing, I thought it was going to be impossible to find Osama until I was proven wrong by one great man. Obama has also helped with the economy, like the stimulus package and improving national security. Obama has really helped improve the economy and looks like he isn’t done just yet. In my opinion, I think Obama could do more of the economy if we gave him more time. Maybe Obama can even end the war in Iraq, or even help middle class citizens with their struggles to maintain a good living for themselves and their family. Obama could learn from John F. Kennedy, since John was a really great people person with his wisdom words and actions. Ever since the death of Osama Bin Laden, more and more troops have been pulled of Iraq and also helping with the no fly zone in Libya, Africa. Obama has helped decrease tenses with other countries and has inspired many people just because of his election. Obama to me is really a people’s person and really shows he cares about the country and the people that live in it. I really think Obama should be re-elected not just because he put Osama Bin Laden to justice, but for his improvements that benefited America, and I hope we get more presidents just like him

ReplyDeleteOsama Bin Laden, the mastermind behind numerous terror attacks against the United States, the terrorist who eluded two presidents since his involvement in the 1998 U.S. embassy bombings in Africa, has been killed by U.S. forces. More specially and probably more importantly, Osama Bin Laden was killed on President Barack Obama’s order. Even though in a statement President Obama said, “Victory for Democrats or Republicans, it was for America,” Osama Bin Laden’s death could very well launched the President’s into a second term.
I personally think President Obama deserves a second term considering his courageous and breathtaking effort to go ahead with the plan to killed a “most wanted terrorist” who could have simply eluded him like he did the former Presidents Bill Clinton and George Bush. However unlike those presidents, President Obama took drastic measures which ultimately cornered Osama Bin Laden and ended his life right on his very own compound. For the first time since the September 11 attacks Americans especially relatives and friends of those who were perished on that tragic day can finally feel a sense of happiness and relief. The wounds from the horror of 9/11 are finally starting to heal one small step at a time. When President Obama became the U.S. president in 2008, he promised a grieving nation that he will capture or kill Osama Bin Laden and defeat the al-Qaeda network who at that time seem invulnerable. President Obama however lived up to his promise and though he has yet to defeat al-Qaeda, he did ordered the killing of their notorious leader as a small step to success. President Obama action has marked a significant downfall for al-Qaeda in general. The death of Osama Bin Laden has decline the involvement of al-Qaeda in countries like Pakistan and Jordan. Even the War on Terrorism in Afghanistan is slowly coming to its conclusion ever since the killing of Osama Bin Laden. I say President Obama deserves a great among of credit along with the United States Navy SEALs for their brilliant work in putting down a man who have caused nothing but fear and terror to the world by destroying the lives of innocent victims.

During Barrack Obama’s presidency, Osama bin Laden was captured and killed. Many Americans hail and idolize Barrack Obama because of this event. The reason for the Americans’ idolization is because Osama bin Laden was the leader of Al- Qaeda, a terrorist group of Afghanistan. Al-Qaeda was the terrorist group responsible for an event many people know as September 11th or 9/11. 9/11 occurred September 11, 2001; it was an unanticipated series of attacks on the world trade center, and the pentagon. The aim of the Al- Qaeda terrorist group was to eliminate America’s control of the world. The terrorist group feared that America was becoming too strong and that it will soon take over their nation as well as their religion which was Muslim. Many people viewed 9/11 as a devastating event because a lot of innocent Americans died during these terrorist attacks. 9/11 has an emotional pull on millions of Americans. Obama being president during the capturing and killing of Osama bin Laden is almost the equivalent to Obama actually killing Osama bin Laden. Obama is responsible for the killing of many people’s night mares and the savior to many. Osama bin Laden’s death is only one event and promise Obama has kept. Although he is responsible for killing the evil doer of many American’s bad dreams, I do not think Obama should be reelected. Barrack Obama has made many promises to America and failed to keep some of his promises whether congress voted against it or there was a compromise made. Barrack Obama is an outstanding man and is the first African American in office, but I do not think he can handle being in office for a second term. Being president has stressed Obama out. He does not look as young as he was when he first became president. There was a drastic change to his appearance because of the stress he was undergoing. Running for a second term would not be good for his health. The main reason why I do not want Obama to run for a second term is because I do not want a president who can not keep his promises. Making change is difficult, but it is not fair to bring about false hope to Americans either.
