This time around, you can respond to any ONE of the four top blog topics recommended by you or your peers! I tweaked the wording a bit. As always, bear in mind that I will not approve posts that are carelessly written or too short.

Are you for or against abortions? Should they continue to be legal? Do you think that teens who get pregnant should get abortions? Or should they have to deal with getting pregnant and raise the child?

If someone gave you one million dollars randomly, what would you spend it on? Who would you share it with? Would you save it?

Should President Obama be elected for another term? If you say yes, state what he has done or will do to help the nation. If you say no, then explain why not.
By Christine Padmore:
Why do most men always say they prefer a woman that is all natural, yet they end up being the ones who marry girls with pounds of makeup, plastic surgery, and fake hair? What is your opinion on going natural or being made up? Is it enhancing your beauty, or making you into a different person?
In our society and world today; make-up, weave and plastic surgery is a big epidemic. Women look to these things to create an illusion for others. Problem is some of them pile on too much of all of these extras.
ReplyDeleteI believe that girls should embrace their natural beauty; make up is rarely needed unless it’s a special occasion. Wearing lots of make up makes your face look old way before you would even be considered old. Me personally I don’t like make up. I’m more on the tomboy side, I barely wear lip gloss. Makeup and foundation even breaks out your face.
Plastic surgery; now that I totally disagree with. I think it is completely unnecessary, like the stuff isn’t good for you. The procedures are very dangerous and leave scars, they may not last and some people don’t even look right with it. I don’t know about others, but I would not want to walk around knowing I have silicon in my body. I know they say beauty is pain, but to really have to go through hours of surgery and then days and weeks of agony.
Now fake hair otherwise known as weave, I can rock with it. Personally, I wear weave because I don’t have naturally long full hair so I can’t do much with my hair. I love to experiment. I like big hair, short hair, curly, straight, and wavy, I love it all. Jus the different styles and colors weave gives to those who aren’t blessed with long and big hair. So weave I don’t have anything against it, I jus dislike it when people take it too far and do get styles that don’t suit them or a whole head of wild hair.
I feel like people wear make-up, weave, and get plastic surgery to enhance their beauties and to hide their insecurities. I wouldn’t necessarily say it changes people but some people do have a different attitude and personality when they put on makeup. There is nothing wrong with make up and weave but when you go to the extent of using these items and then calling yourself a Barbie, is when I believe you have gone to far. Plastic Surgery I just don’t condone at all, I find it pointless and a big waste of money.
If someone gave me a million dollars I would of course use it to make more. I would start by buying a studio to start my record label Be Breezy Records. I would make deals with other rappers and me and that artist would both benefit financially from this. I would also invest in the stock market I would put about one thousand dollars in each stock I decide to invest in. I would advertise products from other companies to gain more money. I would get my mother, grandmother, sister, and myself a house. I would also save fifty thousand to keep me through college. I would buy cars for me and friends so we wouldn’t have to walk around any more. I would start my own cloths and sneaker line and call it Breezy wear. Then I would hire secretaries to keep track of my business schedules and a accountant to keep track of the money that I am bringing in or losing and why . In due time I would also open a chain of restaurants Breezy’s easy eating all a cross the country and I would expand those restaurants around the world. After my businesses and my life are stable I would give back to the people. I would give millions to charity for diseases because if I could save lives it would make all this worth it. Also, I would donate to environmental conservation because we need to leave a world for the next generation and if people don’t start taking care of the world it won’t be around for long. I would help support the homeless if we have more people with jobs and stable lives that could help thee economy rise greatly. I would not only help the poor in the U.S but I would help the people in other countries gain homes, food, and education to help get the success of there country a head start. To summarize this I would basically use that one million dollars to make billons and help make the world a better place and create hope for the future.
ReplyDeleteAccording to Wikipedia, “Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy by the removal or expulsion of a fetus or embryo from the uterus, resulting in or caused by its death.” I am against abortion however, it’s only my opinion and the choice to get an abortion is up to the mother and father of the child. I don’t think abortion should be legal because mothers are killing innocent lives. Its murder because you are killing a person who wasn’t has a chance at life yet. It’s unfair to the unborn child who doesn’t have a choice if it should be alive or dead.
ReplyDeleteIf a teen become pregnant, I feel the same way if an adult become pregnant. It’s the teen choice and nobody should make them do something they do not want to do. However, I don’t think teen should get abortion because it also put their life in danger. If a teen want to hide their pregnancy, they will mostly get an abortion and get it done unprofessionally. This not only kills the unborn child, but can kill the mother because of blood loss. In the movie, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf, a teenage girl became pregnant and she was about to get an abortion unprofessional because her mother was very religious and money was low because of her plans to go to college unlike her older sister. The teenage girl almost died because of blood loss however, the baby did die.
I also believe that teens should take care of their children just like adult parents however, if the teen doesn’t want to keep the baby, adoption is another good choice. This doesn’t harm the baby and a better family can take care of the child and give it a better life. The child can grow up like a normal child if their biological parents are raising them. The child can call the family mom and dad. Late on in life, this child can eventually find their birth parents for many reasons if he or she chooses to do so. In conclusion, the decision of having adoption is up to the parents choice however, I believe that this should be illegal because the killing of an innocent live and the risk the mother have if adoption doesn’t happen correctly.
I feel that natural girls are not a problem to me because that means that the girls like the way they were born. Girls who go through plastic surgery are not happy with their body and they go through surgery to change their image, sometimes to please others or to think that they would get special attention and privileges because they have bigger and better “body parts” but in reality they are find the way they are and that plastic surgery just makes them look like a fake person. I think that girls who stay natural they know that someone out their will accept them the way they are and even if they do not feel comfortable about their body a man will let them know that they are beautiful made the natural way. To me I do not like girls who change their image through varieties of surgeries because they do not have the real body that I think all girls which Is a natural body. I feel that girls who uses make up is just trying to fix up their image but the difference between make up and surgery is that make is not a permanent image change but the surgery is a permanent change that will last forever and if the surgery messes up the way you look, then you will have to stay and live with the mistake for the rest of your life, if a girl wears make up it should just be a small touch because you can affect your look if you use too much. Sometimes I feel like a girl’s image is a focus to me but not my main focus, I focus on the personality of the girl then go on from there. If a girl has a good image to me I would approach her but when I find out she has a stink attitude then that turns me off and I move on to the next girl. Girls need to learn that they should stay themselves and do not change their image permanent, maybe if someone says you can use a little bit of make up then you can use it but if someone says you need to change your body parts then do not do it, natural should be the way to live, someone will accept you the way you are naturally.
ReplyDeleteI believe that many men prefer all natural women but marry the made up ones because at the end they just don't care. Also, being that the percentage of woman's faces and bodies being what we consider (made-up/fake) has greatly risen. Most woman are doing this to themselves instead of being and accepting themselves for who they are which only leaves a few all natural girls. Many men just start to go to the made-up women being that there is so many of them. Yes many men say they want a woman that is all natural but marry those because at the end they love to have a trophy wife or a model looking girl to show off to their friends as well.
ReplyDeleteAs we all know, god created us and made us all look like how we do for a reason. We are all beautiful in his eyes but i guess many people do not feel this way. I believe in staying the way that god created me and not changing a thing. Of course no one's perfect and we all have our personal faults in ourselves like for example i don't like how i was born with very sensitive skin which affects me in many ways... But, yet I'm not mad or insecure. I just deal with if and I won't cover my skin with any make-up because it is how it is and doesn't need to be changed or look different to me. With that being said I believe in going natural.
In situations of many other people though, back to what Ms. Dewberry was stating about how many women wear pounds of make-up, get plastic surgery, and use fake hair, i feel it is wanted for these women. It's obviously that they aren't either happy with themselves or appreciating themselves for how they were meant to look. Men that go for women with all three of these things going on to me are marrying a fake person. Back to what I was saying about women and fake features, to me it's not anything wrong with it really because it makes them look way more better. Many people need these things badly in their eyes. When you think about it, when you see people without their make-up on and then the next time with it on, you want to say ohh wow what a big difference you should wear make-up all the time because you look so much prettier. Some people wear weaves because their hair is to short or non manageable. I say if you going to get a weave just make it look nice at least. Plastic surgery on the other hand is a little extra and i don't believe in it but that's people's business and I will not judge them. Girls that have all three of these though in a way disgust me because they provide the image of them not respecting god in a way because they wanted to change the whole entire way that he created them. Thats very sad and disgraceful to me.
Additionally, being made up is not only and enhancement for many girls but it does change them. They tend to become conceited or cocky with their happiness of their new look that everyone loves which is not even them. Being and looking made-up is you not being yourself but if it is really wanted for a woman to participate in this activity i feel its okay.
**"Do your thing girl your beautiful either way and always remember that" words of CaBria Huffman Jackson.**
To answer Symone Huggins/Christal Dewberry/Kayla Small's blog topic I'm against abortion. The reason why I'm against because is because I just believe its wrong whether your a month or just two months it doesn't justify what your doing to what can form into a child, or is even a fetus already. Honestly, I don't think abortions should be legal but regardless there would be people who would do it on the side anyways. I don't think it should be legal because its just saying that its okay for you to kill a human being but if you purposely make yourself have a miscarriage you go to jail its basically the same thing. I personally believe and dealing with friends who been through this situation I believe the best thing to do with teenagers being pregnant is to have the baby and if you know you personally cant give the baby what you would like to have an open adoption where you can visit the baby if you want. It's just when you have abortions some people feel a sense of guilt after and cant forgive themselves for what they did, so instead of dealing with that have the baby and deal with the consequences of your actions. Also what happens if you get multiple abortions and when your ready to have children you cant due to past abortions? Teens are well aware of what sex is and how to avoid the act of getting pregnant but don't follow through with the procedure and not deal with your mistake you take away an innocent life. How would you feel if your mom thought about aborting you?
ReplyDeleteIf someone gave me one million dollars I would go insane. I would literally start pulling the hair out of my head and my family members. However, I wouldn’t tell no one else but a few family members. The first thing I would do is buy a huge house in Miami. I would also help all of my family members. I would make sure I am not spending all of my money crazy though. The best thing to do is to open up a restaurant, movie thresher, or an amusement park so I can be spending money and also make a whole lot at the same time. This is one thing that i would make sure I do. Many milliners go bankrupt because they just spend money and didn’t try to invest in anything. Another thing I would do is give to the poor and donate to orphanages. It would be very selfish of me to have a lot of money and don’t help people who is in need. Just because I got a million dollars doesn’t mean that am going to drop out of high school and stay home. I would make sure I graduate from high school and college. Mostly I wouldn’t be stupid about my money I always stay on my toes and make sure I don’t go bankrupt. Lastly I would make sure I save enough money to pass down to my generations so not only my generation can enjoy the money but my other generations.
ReplyDeleteIf I were to win a million dollars the first thing i would do is to put up money for college. I would then give some to my parents because without them I wouldn't be here. They gave me everything i wanted and needed and it would be a pleasure to give it back to them. I would also invest my money into something i really like. Something like buying a basketball team or opening a charity program. With a Million dollars I would be able to move back to Belize and enjoy a quiet life there with my family(which wouldn't be quiet at all). But though this would be quite enjoyable we all know that A million dollars isn't that much money now. So after all of that i previously did I would invest. Create stocks and bonds and commodities and then watch my money continue to increase. But of course like everyone else who obtains a large sum of money I would do a little splurging, I would spend at least 5-7% of my money on splurging. I would not spend all of my money in an instant because we are going through difficult times in America and having a million dollars is just for added to security so incase anything could possibly happen to you you have something to fall back on. You see a lot of people think that a million dollars could get you anything when in reality it isn’t much at all. If you think about it there are still taxes and other things you have to worry about that come with your money. Also if it is given through you through a bank you should really consider a decent amount of reduction to that total percentage. You also have to pay to withdraw your own money, and the higher the amount taken out the higher the amount deducted. Also you should worry about yourself, so many people would bother you and harass you for money that it wouldn’t even be funny, you find yourself with friends you didn’t even know you had. Too much of anything is a bad thing.
ReplyDeleteIf I was randomly given one million dollars I would not go on an immediate spending spree but I would instead make a few small necessary purchases then invest the bulk of the money I have left in thriving businesses and the bank. I would not buy a new lavish house but instead make some renovations to the one I currently live in to make it more comfortable. This may include new tiling, or remodeling rooms such as the kitchen or bathroom. If I finished college buy the time I received the money at this random hour I would use a small portion of it to pay off loans and other college expenses hoping more money would come out of the various investments I make to pay the rest off. If all of my college expenses are already paid off by the time I receive this lump sum of money I would use a portion for my children’s college funds instead. I would not give out small sums to those around me although they may think I am being selfish I will truly be looking out for their best interests when I invest the money I could have gave them and double or triple its original amount. After this is done I would spend some money on them anyway they like. My main goal for the distribution of this money would be to always have a good amount stored away so I can live comfortably. This means being capable of paying all bills, handling any sudden financial problems that may arise, and purchasing all necessities and any needs after that. Once I have received this money I would not feel safe if I did not have at least a few thousand dollars to fall back on incase of an emergency. In today’s day and age one million dollars is not as much as it was about twenty years ago so I would try my best to stretch it as much as possible to meet all of my needs. Investing most of the money would be my top priority because my money would be making money.
ReplyDeleteYou would find that many men prefer natural women, then women that had plastic surgery or wear a ton of makeup because, they feel that if they have to go out and buy their perfection to satisfy them, then that is sad. I agree with the men that don’t end up with the low self steam dolled up women. I do not think it is the man fault on if he marries a natural female or a made up one, because at the end of the day they still may meet his qualifications of being his “Dream,” wife. But I truly believe that men do prefer natural women over made up women.
ReplyDeleteBut I tend to look at it as they are the women that need the most love. Some women may do it for an important reason. For example; if I women was to have breast cancer and had to get an entire breast cut off, they would feel different and would want to go have plastic surgery, to get that missing feeling to go away.
My opinion on going natural or made up is, to stay natural, but if you feel that you need that extra boost of confidence then go ahead. Just don’t get carried away with it to the point when you still do things to your body and you do not need it done to you at all. I personally would stay natural, except if I really needed the change done to me. I think that it does not enhance your beauty; I believe that it hides it, but other women don’t see that, even though others may disagree. I do believe that it makes you a different person because, it makes women feel more beautiful and they feel that they have to go and show it off. This brings them to being conceited and stuck up. That’s one main reason why I would not want to get dolled up, because I would not want people thinking I’m conceited because I bought everything I’m made of, to become perfect in my eyes and everyone else’s.
Being very wealthy is one of my life long dreams. To achieve this goal I have to do many things to make this possible. To become very wealthy, I feel that going to college is necessary. College gives an individual the tools they need to be successful with their career and make a lot of money.
ReplyDeleteI would appreciate it if I were to be given a million dollars randomly. All of the money that I receive will go towards college and tutoring. As I look at how the economy is going, it seems as if it is going to become even more difficult to get into college for free. Anyone with money can easily go to college. I will pay for my years in college. With the money I have left over, I will use it for tutoring. I can not go to college with out knowing any information. College cost a lot of money and when I pay to go to college I do not want to waste my money by failing classes.
I would also give some money to my mother and father. I hate to see my parents struggle economically. I have younger sisters and I would want them to feel welcomed and not left out because they do not have much money. To hang out with friends, it is almost a need to have money. I do not want my sisters to be left out because of money issues. I want my sisters to feel accepted and not isolated or inferior.
With the rest of the money I will spend it all on clothing, shoes and accessories. Shopping for things like clothing makes me feel happy inside. I like to pretend that I’m on a television show and try on all the clothing in the store; in a way it makes me feel rich and carefree.
Receiving a million dollars randomly will basically be a good thing for me. I will do many things with the million dollars like help pay for college as well as get tutoring to stay in college. I will also help out my family and spend wildly on the rest of the money.

ReplyDeleteDo you consider something with a beating heart a living creature? A baby heart forms and starts beating in the fifth week of pregnancy; therefore, that would make abortion murder. The baby that is growing inside of the woman is depending on her, so when she makes the choice to end that baby's life, she is making the choice to murder a person.
Abortions are often considered "the easy was out." I feel that abortions are just selfish. There is no easy way out. I could not imagine living with the guilt of taking another's life, especially the life of something that I created, and that is dependent of me. There are so many people out there that wish they had the chance to get pregnant. If you really feel that you are not ready to be a parent then the least you could do is give the baby up for adoption, and make your life, that baby's life, and the family adopting the baby’s life a lot happier. Many of the people that have abortions take advantage of it and use it as a form of birth control. I can understand that having a baby might ruin someone's life, or so they think, but what about the life that you are ruining when you have an abortion. In a way, it is taking away a piece of them, a piece of them that they will never be able to get back. What if the baby that you killed could have grown up to be the president of the United States, or discovered a cure for a disease that might save your own life in the future? There are so many things that need to be considered. So if you ask me I will say abortion would be illegal in the United States and worldwide as a matter of fact and teens who get pregnant whether accidentally or on purpose should carry the child despite all the possible obstacles it might follow. Only way a person should commit abortion is if the mother’s life is in danger and the baby is very unlikely to make it through.
Maybe if the results of abortion were more widely discussed then it might change the way people think and feel about the topic. Most time people should think before they act rather than acting before they think.
I am Responding To Nigel Cyril's Blog Topic If someone gave you one million dollars randomly, what would you spend it on? Who would you share it with? Would you save it?
ReplyDeleteIf someone gave me one million randomly,i would spend it on college because i plan on going to college and just making a living for myself.Since i have alot goals and dreams and aspirations in life i need money to do these things. Also i really wouldnt have no one to share it with because no one would share with me and care about me to share their money with me.Also yes i would save just in case for emergencies or if i need it for anything else i might want. But Having a million dollars can go by really fast depending on how you spend it,because people spend money fast and on stupid things. But with all that money i wanna use it on vauble stuff and i dont wanna spend it all crazy,i wanna spend it wisely.A million dollars will not last foever so you have to be careful how you spend it.People would go crazy if they have a million dollars and they would go out and buy all types of things. This is My Opinion on how i feel about having a million dollars
