As an experiment, the Ku Klux Klan decided to find an intelligent black person to speak at a huge rally, and they chose you! What will you say? Compose a mini-speech of 350 to 550 words. You could speak out against racism, try to convince them of their error of their ways, etc. Remember that your response must be written as a mini-speech.
***As with any school assignment, speak your mind intelligently and responsibly. I know, it's the KKK, but cursing or hateful language is not acceptable.
I am glad that the KKK chooses me to speak today. The KKK or The Ku Klux Klan or simply The Klan is an organization about white supremacy, white nationalism, and anti-immigration, expressed through terrorism. I don’t agree with the KKK actions. First of all, white supremacy is wrong because it put white people first and other races mainly African American people like me down and wanting to kill us. They believe that black people are bad for the world in general. This is racism. Racism to me is based on ignorance and traditions which doesn’t make sense t. It’s sad that a group like the KKK believe in such strong emotion of hate to other races. I believe that we are all God children and people and we shouldn’t hate or dislike a person just because the color of their skin but by their personally.
ReplyDeleteThe action that really makes me angry about the KKK is the lynching of African Americans. Another action is the KKK are nativism, which are people who don’t like the immigrants for several reasons such as taking jobs, destroying society, making it hard on economy, etc. The way the KKK runs is awful and I wouldn’t understand why anybody wants to join the KKK. It’s like joining to making life harder for other races, making life harder for you, and making life harder in general. In my opinion, the KKK needs to stop completely because the way the KKK is being organize hurt the world.
The KKK doesn’t help anybody other than whites. It makes life “easier” for them. Its nothing wrong saying your opinion on other races, however, disrespecting other race, killing people from other race, and other ignorant actions doesn’t help anybody and these action are plain wrong. The KKK shouldn’t exist anymore because the KKK is never going to change their ways. Also, people know how the KKK works so; it’s like giving them a second chance. The KKK doesn’t deserve a change at changing or anything that they do.
In conclusion, the KKK is wrong since it first organizes back in 1865 and even to this today, people still want to join the KKK. If you’re thinking about joining the KKK, think again. It’s an awful racist group and it doesn’t help anybody in this world but the people in the KKK. Thank you for letting me speak today.
Hello, My Name Is Niya Edwards. I am a member of the race that you all are against. My question to you is why do you hate such a talented group of people? Are we not as good as you? Are you intimidated? Or is it just that you are ashamed? These are all questions you will not answer politely because you are an ignorant group of people. When will you learn we are better than you? How can such people be better you say? We are stronger! We suffered from your hatred acts of torture. You hate us. You’re intimidated. Our women have bodies your wives would never have so you rape them. Our men have the strength of a raging bull so you try to break them. You are all failures. You have failed at life. Your heart is full of anger. My Brother Runs your Nation. Barrack Obama Dominates you all. Are you upset yet? I think you are! You try to kill my mother and brothers thinking I will fall into your trap. No, I will push further and go beyond your point of view. Hate it or love it I Niya Edwards am the Granddaughter of the African kings and queens who suffered before me. I am the niece of those who marched in the civil rights movement. I am the daughter of one of the strongest black women in America today. So ask yourself, did you succeed? NO! You have not succeeded; you have only made us stronger. So now I thank you for all you have done. Thank you for the bombs thrown in Alabama, Thank you for the lynching’s in Mississippi. Thank you for the rape charges. Thank you for the slavery. I Stand for Emmett Till. I walk for Malcolm X. I Sit for Rosa Parks. I learned my rights for the sake of Huey Newton and Angela Davis. I traveled on the railroads in remembrance of Harriet Tubman. I learned to read so I could be like Frederick Douglass. I had a dream because Martin Luther King inspired me. So now I hold the power and I now demand that you all drown in your guilt.

ReplyDeleteThis is a good chance to air out my feeling on you KKK people. I feel that you are doing the wrong thing to black people because they are the same as you, why do you people think you are better then other races it makes no sense. Do you realize that you are burning down house that blacks lived in or could of lived in, crops that that blacks grow so they can have something to eat and have a way to survive is taken away from the blacks you kkk people need to realize that it is not the right thing to do to a human being because at the end of the day it is a life you are playing just like their life. If an African American was to try something like what the KKK did, the whites would not like it and take offends to it. I do not think you see us \blacks making our self better then you whites we try to make peace with you but you go and treat us like animals and like we have no purpose on this earth. Some blacks are in college gathering their education so they can have a proper job and support themselves and their family just like the white man. I know if the KK group was still around today you would hate to see the African American get successful in life and you would find a way to shut us down and we did not like you and we sure are not going to let it happen again. Not because you found out in African not performing the wanted us to means that you have to use your own tactics and get us to perform on your level, now we are working to get on your level and higher and it is not because you made us or you white people made us it is because we work hard and fight to get the respect that we know and you know we deserve. KKK people you need to take this advice African American or blacks we have rights that are no different than whites and there is no way you can stop us from gaining or maintaining our rights so if you have a problem then take it up with the 1 million to 2 million blacks in the world that would stand up and fight for what they believe in.
First off I would like to point out the great martin Luther king once said
ReplyDeleteAt the center of non-violence stands the principle of love.
I think what he meant was we can't start loving each other until we stop fighting each other. I think this greatly relates to the KKK's violence towards African Americans. I understand everyone has opinions on each other but, I do not feel that it is right for someone to die over something that they have no control over i such as thier skin color. You love or hate us by our personality. After all it is your fault we are here if you had not captured us from our homes, beat, raped, tourtured and worked us to death we would have not been forced to escape to the north it is you who started this slavery and it is your fault we are here so why do you hate us? Do you hate us because we stand up for our rights or do you hate us because no matter how much you burn our houses or lynch us we still stand strong. but I do not believe that their is a anwser to these questions because I myself cannot answer them. why do you hate someone because they are darker than you. Maybe it is not totally your fault. You were taught this way by your fathers and forefathers because maybe they didn't have enough technology back in that time to know that all men are equal.
See I have a few more questions what if your son were to be born black would you have him or if your mother was black would you hate her?
and why do you burn a cross ? was god rasist? and maybe he was black if you ask your selves these questions will you be able to come up with any anwsers? I think not because you don't think not just in general but about your actions they do speak louder than words anyways. I think the person who should feel the most responsible for this is william j. simmions the founder of the KKK.
Racism and discrimination is amoral. Deciding. The worth of someone and the ingenuity of someone is not only ludicrous but it is a judgmental and shallow thing to do. It is not right for someone to be treated differently from another just because of their skin color. Judge an individual on their personality. We are all humans, all mammals, all god's children and if he created and accept us for who we are, who are we to degrade one another? Change has happened and will continue to happen so we will have to be flexible. Times have changed, creating civil rights for all. Why dwell on what's to hate about a person when it uses most of your energy. Thank about it, would you guys really want to be treated the way you have been treating other people. What if the harsh discrimination was the other way around. What if blacks hung whites for being white. What if blacks gave whites unfair treatment because they are white. What if whites felt like they were being ran by an oppressive government; they would have the same concerns and thoughts that the blacks had. It is said to treat people how you would want to be treated.
ReplyDeleteMy skin my be darker but I am just as intelligent. M skin may be brown but we both are humans which means we both feel, we both breathe, we both have hearts but the colder it is the tighter you become not allowing room for more and the warmer it is the more accepting you are.
I accept you for who you are and I show no wrath toward your opinion because everyone is entitled one. Though to physically punish someone because of their race is unacceptable. Stop the violence. I am not trying to change your personality. I am simply just trying to open your eyes so you can see the new worLd from a new perspective. I hoped my goal has been achieved with the speech and I am grateful that you all are willing to listen to an african-american speak. Just by listening is great progress.
I honestly cannot fathom why the Klu Klux Klan would ever think to offer me a job speaking for them. I can honestly say that this was a big mistake on their part. I wouldn’t ever think about defending such a racist group like them. The white supremacy beliefs that they favor really disgust me. Humans were all created equal, so who’s to say what race is better than another race. I honestly believe that every race has something to offer that makes the human population great. Every race brings something good to this earth. Do they get some sick sadistic pleasure from burning African Americans on crosses? I don’t understand their reasoning for their actions at all. Why is there still racism in this world, I have no idea. This is the 21st century, there is absolutely no reason for it. We all have to share this planet so why shouldn’t we be nice to on another on this planet. We have evolved so much on this earth that there is no reason for one race to feel superior to another. Many races have contributed so much to the development of human-kind that there is no need for us not to give one another credit for something else. The Klu Klux Klan’s ideas were mainly against anti-immigration, and all for white nationalism. I am speaking today to show the Klu Klux Klan the error of their ways! They have done so much wrong as a group and they need to be stopped in their tracks. I can’t understand how these could be men of God and they are doing this to their fellow brothers. It’s just something I cannot grasp no matter how hard I think about the subject. What makes them think the white race is the best and most prominent race, I know many people who would very much disagree with that because of the actions some of the white race has committed. Today I am not speaking as just an African America, but as a HUMAN. The things that this organization has committed go against a human’s natural rights. I would hope that they would stop this nonsense.
ReplyDeleteMy name is Kayla Small, and I have been chosen to speak before you, by the kkk. I ask myself over and over questions about, the reason we (blacks) may be segregated against. Now that i am allowed to ask you and talk to you about whats going on, on the other side, im going to take advantage of it. Why do you (the whites)descriminate against us african americans just because we are black? i can stand here today and tell you we are the same exact species as you, and can learn just as much.
ReplyDeleteI also wonder why would you want to punish us, is it because our natural intellegence affend you? If I were You i would also feel intimidated, because my (white) anscesters beaten your (African American) ascesters, i would feel as if you would want to change it around and take it out on me. I often thought the whites thought we would take away their good living, and take over the earth or something, all because you are trying to keep us under your control.
My main goal comming here today is so i may change your mind on segregation, on your perspective of African Americans. We can actually become a great team if you just learn how to treat us like humans and not animals. The way we are treaten and spoken to, made us have no selfasteem for ouselves. And when we dont listen to what you have to say, we get punished, when that is us just taking on natural reflexsis. we are not alwayss going to listen to what you have to say.
One of the main conflicts that we blacks have a problem with is, you people rapping our black women. I am a women myslf and im very lucky not to experience that myself, but i am probably 1 out of 6 women who was not raped. i dont understand how you can critisize us and call us animals, but yet you are raping the same woman you called a animal. That is unfair and not very human like.
What i would like to leave you with is, we are equal whether you like it or not. Our Family Has gone through so much for us just like yours. Most importantly, we are just as intellegent maybe even more. I feel there can be a change but it is up to you to make it.
Hello I am more than pleased to be here today to speak on behalf of my fellow African Americans. First and foremost I would like to say that the members of the Klu Klux Klan have brought about alot of pain that harbors in alot of African Americans hearts. We are humans just as you guys are but yet we get treated as less. For what reason? there is no valid one, because a skin color is never a valid reason for murder and torture. However I look at it as intimidation.
ReplyDeleteI believe that those of the cocasian race were intimidated by us African Americans. You may snicker and sneer but I have my reasoning. My people were proud, hard working honest people. We understood that everything wasnt going to be handed to us although many of you cocasians believe that everything should be giving to you guys on a silver platter. We went out tried to make a honest living for us and our family. But there was always something attempting to stop us. You guys put all kinds of restrictions on us as if we were the worst thing known to humanity. We couldnt get a legit education, restricted to the back of buses, confined to small, un-kept areas. While you guys basked in the glory.
Although you may believe you broke us, you never did. Our spirits could never be broken, we knew our day would come and w wouldnt give in until we got what was rightfully ours. Which was equality. I am simply here today to say that all of the pain and suffering you put us through only made us stronger. So i appreciate it because now we can truly say we came from the bottom and made it through and will continue to prosper. We did not allow the ignorance of you to hold us down, and you thrived on our pain and tried to limit us to failure. But now that we are succefull what will you thrive on now ?
Thank You for your time.
Hello. First off I would like to thank the Ku Klux Klan for inviting me to be here and speak to all of you, all of my African American supporters I appreciate you being here to encourage me and all of the open minded whites I appreciate you taking time out of your day to hear me speak. There are currently several issues separating whites and black like segregation, racism, and discrimination. These issues and more have led to a large gap in advancements between the two races; this gap is unfair and unjust. African Americans and Caucasians should be able to live amongst each other with equal rights and opportunities, but instead our race is being held back by all the unfair treatment we receive daily from whites. Although slavery has ended formally blacks are still in an inferior position to whites by things like the Jim Crow Laws which are responsible for segregating our races in all public settings like restaurants, schools, and even public restrooms and water fountains. This is unlawful; the facilities blacks receive are always of a lower quality than what the whites are permitted to use yet the motto for the Jim Crow Laws is separate but equal. Blacks and whites should be able to use the same facilities because we all have the common purpose when we go the water fountain, get a drink of water or when we go to a restaurant, to get something to eat therefore we should be able to do it in the same places. If we are going to be separate but equal we should all just be together. First African Americans had to suffer through about 300 years of slavery and now that we are free we still do not have the same privileges as whites which is an injustice to our race. We are being held back from so many advances we could be making during these times because of laws that are always leaving us blacks two steps behind whites. Blacks have earned the rights to be on the same level as whites because of all the setbacks we have already encountered, if African Americans and Caucasians have the same rights and restrictions only the best race would prevail in the end. And I believe that if we are given the opportunity we can prevail. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHello fellow Americans. I am here today, not to lead some overzealous rally against segregation, but to inspire integration. When we were young, our grandparents told us of a time when us Negroes couldn’t even receive compensation for our hard labor. Now the days of slavery have ended, but a new chapter in the struggle of blacks begins, and we cannot let it continue. In order for this country to progress, the people who live and work here have to be treated fairly. Pro-segregation, or rather anti- African American groups like the Ku Klux Klan expect me to preach to you about the wrong-doing of our oppressors. Of course, there is much wrong being done, but our oppressors are justified in their actions. Our job as a people, is to prove them guilty of crimes against the constitution as well as humanity itself. The issue of segregation goes past discriminating against a race or ideology, but denying another human their natural rights. The main idea for all these rallies, as well movements is to try and get all Americans, White, Black, Asian, and Hispanic, to come together and work towards change as a nation. We can’t make progress is we turn against each other, and continue being unfair.
ReplyDeleteThe rights of people all over this country should be protected by the people who were appointed to protect them. Our leaders should not be taking sides against the people of their own nation. So don’t retaliate against whites, by stooping to their level, and isolating them, like they are doing to us. So when you leave this rally today, tell your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, and all the people u know to encourage unity, not separation. Tell the people you know that the best way to achieve integration is by being open to the idea of compromising with whites. Opposing Whit supremacy is also something you can encourage. Not necessarily anti- white supremacy, but just find a way to let people know that favoring races, religion, or ideologies over others is wrong. Let them know that in America, where people from all walks of life and corners of the world live, denying natural rights is worthy of damnation. Speak to those who are undecided and give them a voice to be heard. Because we can’t succeed in our goal to change America without everyone who is for the cause. Thank you.
Attention KKK, I did not come here to make trouble with you. I came to try to change your mind about your ideal of racism. There is no reason to support racism. There is no reason to think that white people are superior over black. Black people have contributed a lot to society so there really is no reason to hate them. They have the same blood that run through their bodies. The only difference between you and them is there skin color. It just doesn’t make any sense to hate them. They didn’t even do anything to you. They just try to live in society and you guys hate them for it. To be honest it would make everyone’s life easier if you would let the racism go. There would be a lot less violence in the world. That leads to crime and etc. eventually your going to cause them to rebel and the end results will not be pretty. If you where on the receiving side of racism you would understand how serious and hurtful it is. That’s when you would really understand. We where all created to love each other and you following this belief is not doing this. This idea isn’t helping anyone out, so I think it is time you guys should stop it. another thing is that black people also fight for our country along with whites. They join the marines, the navy, the air force, the army, so there fighting to protect you and you are hurting them. Its not fair for them. Just end this non sense. What ever happened in the past with our ancestors its over so why continue this. Blacks have seem to let go the slavery thing and your trying to still hate them for it. it happened in the 1800s so you guys need to let it go. In my opinion u guys need to end your racist organization. It is not helping anyone and it is sending a bad example to kids in the future. What ever you have against them just let it go. Thank you for letting me speak today.
ReplyDeleteRacism is something that has effect the world I a huge way. If you’re a races person then you’re an unintelligent person. No one man has the right to say which skin color looks the best or which skin color is more dominant. Only evil people would think of something so horribly. A good question to ask yourself is how your race is better than the other? I bet you would not have the answer to that question at all. I think the reason you guys are races is because of your ego and pride. Two different races can be living the same exact life; just because one race is white and other is black doesn’t mean that you are a little bit better than them.
ReplyDeleteRacism is a dreadful thing that happens to this world. Many people have died and suffer because of racism. With all of the problems going on in the world racism should be the least of our problem. People are dieing and starving in this world. Its not only one race neither it’s every single race! We need to put our emotions and ego’s away and focus on the big picture. I understand if you don’t want to stop being races because the people around are going to think you’re a traitor. You must not follow people into doing wrong things, you need to do what you know is right and treat human beings with respect.
I beg you if not for yourself do it for your further generations. Your kids, your nephews, nieces, and grand kids. The world is going to end if we continue like this. No one race can ever be bigger than other races. It’s not about skin tone it’s about what kind of person you are in the inside.
Good day gentlemen, I would like to start off by saying thank you for giving me the honor to talking to high and respectable men like you. I was asked to speak about the long disputable subject that grew to have painful feelings towards the lingering sound of it. I came here to talk about racism. To begin with, we all know that racism is the hatred or the harsh treatment one gives to another person because of their race. I have a question to ask all of you gentlemen: Can you really hate something you do not know? H.P Lovecraft, a Caucasian horror fantasy and science fiction author once said “THE OLDEST and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown.” Do you all behave in a racist way because you fear we black people? I know smart gentlemen like you shouldn’t fear us. You all are intelligent and has been running our nation for years. Most people think that it is wise to eliminate competition or make their opponent feel bad so they can drop out of the competition. That is not a fair way of winning. Winning that way does not prove ones ability nor does it prove that you have confidence in yourself. This whole world that we are living today is all based off of competition whether it is with business, school, or even mankind itself. It would be shameful to know that Caucasians are afraid of black people because they fear we may be more intelligent than they are or take their place as the most dominant race. If you have been running the country for years, why be afraid of black people dominating or taking your place? There’s a reason why you have been running the country for as long as you did. The whole world is a competition and I believe that blacks and white should compete against each other in a fair race. Racism is only cheating in the race and if you are really more powerful than black people, you do not cheat with racism to win the competition.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate the KKK allowing me to speak before you today. I would like to start off this speech by naming the inhumane disgusting vile things that have been laid upon me and fellow African Americans. Imagine the feelings you would have when you aren’t allowed the right to an education. Education! To fill ones head with knowledge, for you to deprive someone of a natural right such as education is just disgusting and foolish. Imagine the feeling you would have when a person of white skin color disrespects you, spits in your face and you can’t do anything for fear of your own life. The feeling of being scared to stay out at night because the white people will come out and kill you, burn your body and leave you screaming and writhing in pain wondering in your mind the whole time why is it they do this, how can I have possibly offended someone this much for them to do something so cruel. Can you answer that question, what have we African Americans done to you? You do nothing but shame us, take the few items that we strived for and pushed ourselves to our limits for, disgrace us and burn our homes down just because our skin color is darker than yours? You can’t even imagine the feeling, oh the affliction that you have caused African Americans! How it pains my heart to relive memories of seeing a brother or a neighbor, burned, tortured on a stake and just left there for others to see. Imagine the feelings of black mothers afraid to even let their children leave their house! To leave your own home because of fear for your life, and even in your home you aren’t safe.
ReplyDeleteWe are all human beings, created by god to be loved equally and to share among each other. We are all men and women, grandparents and children, brothers and sisters. Our only difference is skin color! The shame that some black people have even to be black! Hating yourself because of the color of your skin wishing you were born to a different family. You people are sometimes mind-blowing. To believe that you are actually smarter than us because your skin color is white, I laugh when I hear foolishness like that. You aren’t smarter at all, you just prevent us from gaining an education, when our children are born one isn’t smarter than the other, one doesn’t learn to read or write from the exiting of the womb, no! We would learn the same if only we were given the chance. Is it fear that keeps you from allowing us to learn, fear of being surpassed by a race you find to be of a lower quality, fear that another people could go beyond what you do.
I just came here today to tell you all to stop this foolishness. To stop all this murder and strife, just try to become one as a people and see where that leads. No I don’t hate you as a race, I just feel sorry for you, teaching your kids hate when they should be filled with life and love. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to speak before you today and I just hope that you actually opened your ears to what I told you and try and accept it, thank you all and may you live a prosperous life.
I never experienced what any of you have done to my race but I yet feel their pain. You all beaten the people that were the opposite color of you guys. No apparent reason really why you guys did this but you say it was due to the hate you had for blacks. I always wondered not only if the KKK were immature, unintelligent and devils but all whites that agreed to racism, how would it feel if the world was totally different. For example, what if racism did take place but it was the blacks that had more power and were the slave owners. Yes what if the whites were the slaves and instead of the KKK it was the CCC (Colored Clux Clans) that ran around killing all the whites? It's all the same at the end of it all. God put us on this earth different colors and we are all beautiful. Who are you to treat us like this when you are just the same as us. So many wonderful african Americans were killed because of their color of skin. Something they couldn't change. It was their fault the way god created them so why would you punish them for something they have no total control over. It just doesn't make any sense it's obvious you guys feared them. They had something over you and will always have something over you. it's a shame how we were all created with our own mind but yet their were so many KKK members that agreed to harshly treat African American's. Following each other's dumb theories and all. But, today I will not stand mad. What's done is done and I hope that you all are proud of yourselves. Thanks to many great AFRICAN AMERICAN hero's us blacks are okay now. I will never understand how a person could be so cruel to another person that hasn't done anything wrong to them. You breath and you bleed the same color as us. R.I.P to all of my African American ancestor's and to all of the remanding KKK members here now, Thanks a lot you bunch losers.
ReplyDeleteHello, my name is Kendra Thomas and I am very happy you have chosen me out of so many African Americans to give a speech; I know that this isn’t the easiest thing for you guys to do. By this I simply mean accepting an African- American women or an African American person in general to come and speak to you, even though this is just an experiment, to me this could possibly be a good step in the right direction. I don’t know what this experiment is for neither do I care, I believe strongly in proving that all races are equal and we all have can accomplish great things and become great people. Even though most likely you all believe white people are the best in the world, and other races can’t be smarter than you, more athletic or just basically overall just better, because they are not white. What I would like to know is why you believe this. Is it because your parents and the family around you have told you this? If so, then you really shouldn’t believe everything you here. I know that many of you here are Christians and you believe in God. I could be wrong but I thought that Christianity was about loving each other and treating each other kind and nice. If that is really true do you think God would like what you’re doing to everyone that is not white? You spit on African- Americans, call them names, lynch them, make them your slaves, try to keep them from accomplishing anything and treat them like they are animals. The way that you’re acting isn’t how real Christians should. I’m not here to bash you guys; however I do want to shed light on certain situations and the reason you do the things you do which is obviously because of racism. Though you must admit with all the things you do to African- Americans and all the different ways you tried to bring them down many do continue to thrive and succeed, though we do have our problems for people who have been beaten down and stepped on we still are trying and do not want to give up.
ReplyDeletethe Ku Klux Klan decided to find an intelligent black person to speak at a huge rally, and they chose me.My Name is James Singleton and i am here to talk to you about racism against african americans or as you would say "colored people".Why do you dislike our race so much, you seem very intimidated by us alot, and it shows because your men raped our woman, you separated us from our family, friends, and loved ones, you didnt feed us,you let us starve to death and you beat us very badly. Most of the things you done to colored people your regreting today.I think that you dont want us to become successful which its too late because we have the 1st african american president barack obama and he's gonna make a change ! why you didnt want us to learn how to read and write, thats also too late too because frederick douglass bribed the little white boys into helping him learn how to read and write and he realized how bad slavery was back then and he wanted to abolish it.You also tried to control us but rosa parks fought for her seat on the bus so that blacks could sit where ever they wanted, and you tried to make us feel worthless but martin luther king had a dream which encouraged me to have one.Another question how do you feel about colored folks now.Can you answer it honestly?
ReplyDelete
