Among other successful countries, when it comes to education the United States is far from first place. What do you think is going wrong with American education? How could it be fixed?
There are a few reasons why education in the United States are low. There are many distraction for kids such as video games, television, Internet, etc instead of reading more books or studying for a test/quiz they have the next day. In the youth population it's about society and not about education. Most teenagers focus on fashion, relationships, and trying new experiments instead education. I will also have to say the career we have in the United States are also why education is low. If you ask most teenagers what the career they want to be in, it's most likely in the entrainment business such as model, singer, dancer, actress, etc. So because of this careers, you don't need that much education to become one of these. Instead you need more talent & "beauty" according to the real world.
It's also because of the influence or bad example the real world is setting for kids. If you pick up most magazines, it has a celebrity that most teens thinking that they are rich, beautiful, and have a great life or the magazine had a model who is mostly white, skinny, and blond hair. This is what America think of "beauty". It's also on television with models and this tell teenagers this is what you have to be if you want to be a model. This send teenagers to have low-esteem for themselves, depression, extreme dieting and exercise, etc.
Most Americans are selfish and they care more about there appearance then they do with their education. They want things to be handed to them without working hard and especially if your more of a dark skin tone, you have to work extra hard because we live in a racist country even to this day. Ever since this America became what it is today, blacks was treated less then any other race because of our ancestors who was slaves. They fought and died for us just for us to get out of slavery and also to learn to read and write. Now that we can go to school and learn the things we couldn't learn years ago, teens/kids abuse it because we can learn these things. however, we are too ignorant and lazy. We fail to see how long it took us blacks to be where we are today and to see how much our ancestors did for us.
Most kids don't want to go to school because they don't think that the simple things in school can be used later on in life and mostly in college and the career you want to have. Most kids think school is boring and a waste of time. Knowledge is power and that what will help you always in life and not just dropping out of school and thinking you will have a stable job. As we know in this economy, it's difficult to keep a job or to even find one.
I believe this problem can't be fixed because of the negativity that is put on to our country. This country have enough problems as it is and one problem us kids/teenagers can fixed is going to school and be dedicated to learn. We don't think long term of how our life who be without education because we focus on our present.
Nigel Cyril Oh there are so many things I have to say for the topic. Our system is probably the worst system in the world. There are tons of things wrong with it and there are a couple reasons to blame. I would probably blame some of the teachers for some school issues. If you became a teacher just to teach kids who have rich parents or just want preppy kids to teach that are already smart, you are a horrible teacher to me. I believe teachers should make students strive to learn more and get them interested in education and what they want to become when they grow up. Teachers should also care about their student’s grades instead of just giving them a sheet of paper and telling them “Do this.”
The Government should also talk in more consideration in children’s education. The price of getting into college is incredible high and considering this economies poverty it will probably increase. Most kids are probably really smart, but can’t get into college due to budget unless they get financial aid.
Another thing is electronically entertainment. Many kids in the US are distracted by TV, video games, and phones. It’s ok to do things every now and then, but kids really have to make sure they balance school and entertainment. With technology advancing each year, more and more kids get hooked in it. Technology should mostly be in schools to help kids get into the new generation.
Another thing would probably be wars. Many kids can get affected if their parents weren’t sent to war, it can really affect them. Like the Vietnam War, many kids pretty much lost themselves if they died, got sick, or was seriously wounded. The government should really think more when it comes to wars and drafting people.
The next thing is also affect is bulling in school. Pretty much 100% of schools have bullies. Schools don’t ever do anything about bullies or just barely punishes which cause students to loss confidence in themselves. Some bullies even threaten kids by beating them up or even stealing kids lunch money so they don’t have nutrients during lunch time. This problem really needs to be fix because this affects every school!
To get many services in the United States of America money is needed. Though we have public schools which allow children to go to school without their parents paying for it, but the money has to come from some were. Taxes help pay for public schools and the government has a budget for every school depending on the test results. If the scores are not as good as they are supposed to be the budget drops. We have to figure out why test scores go down. There can be many possibilities. The children may be slower than the rest of the class; they may have a behavior problem. A glitch in the learning process may also be that the teacher is not doing their job correctly or their teaching habits may not fit the whole class. There are many circumstances that can affect the test scores of students. When the scores keep declining the government and the board of education would probably be left to two decisions. They would cut the budget down or dumb down the test. When they dumb down the test they are disabling the kids to learn and work to their fullest potential. They are not pushing the kids to do better than what they can. Another reason for the draw back in education of America can be that kids take their education for granted because it is free. In America there are private schools where you have to pay for an education but when parents or guardians cannot make ends meet they can just take their kid out of the private school and put them into a public school. Either way their child can still get an education. In other countries gratis education is not offered. Some families cannot send all their kids to school and others cannot even afford to send only one child to school. To families with those circumstances their children worship and are extremely grateful for the education they are able to receive. The kids do not skip school or disrupt the class. They concentrate on completing there work and getting the education their parents paid for. Right now, it is hard to see many solution to this problematic situation.
An unexpected conversation came up between my two friends and my biology teacher. She started talking about how my friend and I could do something about the controversy. Her idea was to have parents and guardians pay for education for their children so that children and as well as adults can be more appreciative of a free education. If there is no gratis education parents or guardians would start urging their children or push them harder to get an education. If this is done for a few years, the education advancement might be as good as other country’s.
I believe the United States education is doing so poorly because students are constantly arriving to school late, missing a numerous amount of school days, or dropping out because they claim they cant deal with all the school work and homework. Schools need teachers who can control the students in their classrooms, teachers who are organized and know what they are teaching. As Christal said students have way to many distractions. They have electronic devices such as cell phones, iPods, and video games. They would rather play games instead of get their education. But not all students are the same. Some students are dedicated to getting their education. And some students don’t care at all. Those students who don’t care about their education are the ones who make everyone else’s learning experience harder and more complex. I think they should make some type of rule or something to separate those who don’t do anything and those who actually do want their education. Another possibility of students behavior is the people they hang around with. Some of those people can be a bad influence. They encourage them to do things that they aren’t suppose to be doing. And the consequences of those actions are really bad. Kids are also worrying about other things then their education. They worry about what they wear, where and what they are going to do, and yet they want to have good careers. But the key to success is to graduate both high school and college with good grades. Some people want to become doctors, lawyers, police officers etc. but with the way they are doing in school ; they wont get anywhere. The U.S should come up with a way to make schools better, and ways to keep students interested in going to school everyday.
American education has changed a lot over the years and it has not changed for the good. Kids have lost their drive to do anything that has to deal with school, weather it deals with doing homework, extra credit work, or just even trying to make an attempt to go to school. But I’m in no position to judge since some days I don’t like to go to school myself at times, but since my mother wants me to get my education I am one of those kids who are going to school. I believe the reason for Americas’ education being so bad is mainly due to the government. The government has placed so many laws on the kids of today which is basically trying to force and shove education down there throats. For example in New York State a law has been passed stating that kids that take the state test in middle school and elementary school must pass the test or they will be held back a grade. So this is telling me that you want to scare kids into learning which may work for others and then again some kids may not care at all. Also, recently President Obama wants to make the school year one month longer, instead of ending school in June he wants school to end in JULY!!! That’s just making things even worst. Kids will just have another reason to not go to school and some parents may feel the same way as their child and they may not send they child to school. To fix this problem maybe the government should relax…take a deep breath…and just let kids learn and parents who listen to their child when they say they don’t want to go to school they need to become more strict with their kids. If that means walking them to school in the morning or even joining the schools PTA to make sure they stay in school helps. This helps keep them in school and then this gives their teachers a better chance to help develop theirs and help to improve on their weaknesses. If America would just let kids do what they are capable to do and not forcing them to learn new things then we wouldn’t be one of the worst countries in education, but who am I to say, I’m just a student myself and this is only my opinion…
American education is messed up because of the children attending the schools. I think that children do not know the value of education and they only know that if they don’t go they will be picked up by truancy and their parents will be charged with neglect. So they go to school and they act like it’s the worst place in the world. I don’t understand why you wouldn’t want to get an education. If these kids were smart they would understand that if they did exceptionally good they could get out of school, and never have to see the inside of another school building in their life. Instead they act up get suspended and have to spend more time in a building they would rather not be in. I know that my mother and father want me to make something out of myself so I know that I have to get through high school, and college, and graduate school. I also think that students don’t value their education because it’s FREE! Do you think that students in Japan act like they have no common sense? I would definitely say no. They know that if they do they would be disgracing their parents and they do not want to do that. The kids in America do not care about their parent’s feelings. They only care about their wallets and what’s coming out of it. I think that if parents had to pay for their kids to go to school they would be much more strict on their kids. I don’t think they would want them to go to school and waste their money. The parents would make sure that their children brought home good grades, if not the kids would just get in trouble. The teachers also play a part in the system also. They need to be stricter when it comes to unruly students. Stop playing games with these children. If they want to behave like little children then treat them like kids. If you need to start suspending kids then suspend them. If they are threatening other student’s educations then they deserve to be thrown out of the classroom. Why should we have to endure their foolishness, just because they care nothing about school? Some teachers could learn to lighten up a little bit; it’s your job to teach but not to be a drill sergeant. Students want to be able to know that they can depend on their teachers as an older friend. I don’t know what is going to happen to the school system but it does need to change.
I think the education is so low in the United States simply because education doesn’t come first. Instead of homework and test scores kids nowadays focus on other things such as gangs fashion or video games. For example students constantly come late to school like instead of worrying about arriving school early kids focus on going to the store in the morning. But the students are not the only ones to blame kids drop out of school or don’t come to school daily because they make it hard for most of the student to graduate. Like all the regents midterms and other promotion requirements, this makes students feel as if he cannot handle all the pressure of the work and make them want to drop out. The United States ranks 18 among the world’s industrial nations. I think this is because these other nations put education first and it is more important to them than any thing else.
I think that students should be more dedicated to there school work like doing their homework and not talking in class but the students today have many distractions and one of those distractions can be other students. I think to fix this problem the schools should do things that the students enjoy or take interest in. like students could use more technology like computers to do work in class. Instead of a student being on a cell phone and texting in class they can be on a laptop actively engaging in the lesson because student are always on twitter facebook and other websites computers must be something that they have a interest in. I also think the students in the united states should know the value and importance of a education if they only knew the things you could become and achieve in life would take education more seriously and make something out of what has been given to them. I think that the state should make it less hard to graduate. If they do this more students may want to come to school instead of be late Rome the streets and get suspended.
In my own opinion i think that the american education has taken a turn for the worse. When other countries think of an american education, they would think that we had the a low tolerance for failing but we as american students know very well that it isn't true. We have always fell below the standards in subjects including math and geography. They basically lowered the standards for the regents every year so the state can get the test results they desire but how much can they lower the standards before we realized that they are doing us injustice? Parents should take more responsibility to set a solid educational foundation and get the child more aware of the importance of education. Its either the teachers are not doing his/her job or student doesn't find it interesting enough to even listen to anything the teacher has to say. We have one of the highest rate for teenage drop outs yet we see teens on youtube and other sites doing amazing things that would help them get the success they want but still get an education. The problem is that there are those certain teachers who completely ignore the bad students and focus on who they "think" will be somebody in life. Lets face the ugly truth which is many students have lost interest in school so they figure "whats the point of staying in school with teachers naggging you and all this work". The bad part about this is that the students who want to learn are affected by this as well. When u think about it they become influenced by such behavior so it becomes like a cycle. When this happens, you have parents who will protest and press the board of education but u have to wonder what can the board of education really do? They can make the test easier, urge the teachers to make the curiculum more fun, they can even take survey on what they should change but all this comes down to is the student themselves. The individuals that they do all this work for. No one is to blame but us, the students because we put all the hard work to waste and for what to be free? No one can survive in this world with an education so whats the sense of dropping out. We do have to commends those few teachers who reach out to the student and keep them in school and lead them to a better future.
I think that the education system in the United States needs improvement because kids don’t think school is important to them. Kids come to school late everyday instead of coming in early or they are skipping class, the students do not understand that they can not get a proper job in the real world without an education, kids think that going to the corner store, hanging out on the street corner or listening to music is more important but the people who made the music kids listen to when to school, the people who own the corner school did not go to school enough to get a proper job and if kids stay on the corner and don’t go to school they will end up living on that corner. To fix the education system the teacher and staff should find ways to make sure the students come to school on time so they can learn something, make sure that kids are doing the work in class and make it more entertaining so the kids would do the work instead of distracting the other kids who are trying to learn. Teachers and staff should find a suitable way to punish the misbehaved kids. The Kids need to realize that the regent’s exam that they think is hard and also a reason why they are doing horrible in school is being shorten to fit the passing rate for the school and so the kids can pass and move on to the next grade. Students do not understand that teachers are hear to help us learn and be ready for the real world, teachers do not have to be in school to teach us if they don’t want to because if your not learning it’s not their problem to teach you. Students need to do what they have to do to pass and get the education they need to survive in this world or if not then they should not come to school at al because they are distracting the kids who are trying to make something of themselves.
I believe that the problem with American education is mostly the students being taught. Because there are a lot of young parents in this day and age, and parents who were teenage parents, they did not learn how to value education. Some did not get the chance to finish school and obtain a FULL education. Another problem with today's youth and them not valuing education as much as students from foreign countries do, is the fact that education is always available to the youth of this country. Kids in other countries do not have the same opportunities as we do, and if they do, it is very difficult to obtain them. We know that education is almost always available here in the U.S., but whether or not we take advantage of it is our choice. The fact that most of our youth is not motivated to learn and obtain an education is bad on the part of the parents of the youth that do not want to learn. Parents are not instilling the value of education into their children, and that results in kids my age and younger skipping class as well as dropping out of school because they do not have the desire to learn. When parents are relatively tough on their children about education, those are the kids who really want to learn and grow up and be successful. Most of the problem is in High School students. I think it’s a shame that our dropout rate is higher than our math and reading scores. Our country should not be in that position. I also find it unbelievable that kids from other countries come to the U.S. to obtain a good education and their scores are better than those students who were born here and have attended school here since birth. I do not think it is necessarily the educational system that is the problem, it’s just the students who do not wish to learn. If 80% of student in this country out of 100% really strived to obtain a good education, then the U.S. would not be ranked so low in reading and math scores. If parents instilled the will and determination to learn in their children, then the dropout rate would decrease incredibly fast. If people would value education and see its importance, U.S. would be ranked # 1 once more.

For example, a boy at the age of 16 can be smoking marijuana and he can easily influence a 14 year old into getting into the habit with words. he can say something like " just try it this time, you wont get addicted." Just that easy the boy falls into the trap and becomes a steady smoker.
Many Teenagers Depend On popularity because they are insecure and strive for attention. They Become Class Clowns or school-wide rebels trying to impress people that are either living the same lifestyle or not even paying them any attention.
A Racist Mind would think its only in Majority African AMerican Neighborhoods or the "Ghetto", but its everywhere throughout america. Most americans are materialistic and money hungry so they only care about their appearance. They dont care about their upcoming midterms they care about what their going to wear to school that day.
Another reason why american education fails is because of Gang Related Activity. Many Teenage Boys get caught up in Gang violence. They base their life on the color of their flag and not their intellect. They fight for the respect of their flag to gain a higher status under an idiotic mind of the man they call OG or Big HOmie or whatever the title is.
My opinion is that their is no solution to this problem because the people of america are already accustomed to this negative lifestyle. They believe their going to make it somewhere by hustling and stealing. They care about what their going to wear or who their going to rob and not about the hard-work that many people put in to get them to where they are today. They dont understand the horrors that we could have possibly still been facing if it wasn't for education.

Well there are many reasons why American schools are not as high as a level as other countries. One reason is that there are too many distractions in America. Most kids when the come home from school they don’t go and do there homework, they go and play around. Then they end up leaving the homework to the last minute making it not as good as it could have been or they end up not doing all together. Another reason is that American children don’t read enough. There are kids that read a lot in America, but not as much as other country’s do. Another reason that most kids in America have low attention spans. Which is another reason why a lot of kids don’t read a lot. One of the main reasons that American schools are as not as high level as school in other country’s is because most schools in other country’s have school six days a week, and also some are all year school. Kids in America get Saturday and Sundays off and they get a lot more vacation days than a lot of other country’s. This leaves space in kids learning so they forget what they did before vacation. Which brings the point of summer vacation. Summer vacation is the longest vacation we get and kids forget a lot over the summer. This is why in a lot of other country’s kids don’t have this. But there are things we can do to make America a have higher schooling system. One option is that they make more school to make for lost time on vacations. I know they cannot cut out vacations so why not make more school hours. Another alternative is having kids read a lot more in school. I don’t kids are doing enough reading and if don’t read If they don’t want to read in school then they wont want to go to the library and pick up a book and read. One more alternative to solving the problem is trying to teach in a way to catch the children’s interest. Boring classes make kids not want to learn. These are some soultions to the problem at hand. But unless we do something America will stay at the bottom of the education list.
I believe that in today's society a lot of teenagers do not take education seriously. the reason why is because they take school for granted not knowing that it’s a privilege. While other kids in other countries actually do understand how important school is. Also there are many teachers in the American culture that also do not take their job or teaching seriously so therefore neither will the student . A lot of teachers do not take the time out to explain and make the students actually want to be in school. Also America is so caught up in wars and politics, etc that the American education system is falling apart right in front of their eyes. To fix this problem i believe that there really is no solution because american teens already have this mind set and u cannot make someone have an entire different mentality towards something unless they want to change it. There are so many distractions within the american culture that many do not place education in their prioritied. so as a whole so actually make an impact and/or change in the problem we have to encourage one another to make the change and not take education for advantage.

I have heard teachers say numerous times that they don't care if students don't want to listen, and at the end of the day they are the ones getting paid. You see most people say its the students fault but if there is a teacher who can actually teach and make it fun then students would want to learn. Now in some cases there are actually students who don't care about anything and just wont come at all. There are teachers that just come in and do nothing.But we cant just blame teachers, students play the major role in this system. American children are too influenced with video games, drugs, television and just fitting into a crowd that they begin to loose interest in school. This problem can be fixed by hiring teachers that want to teach and not those who just have a degree. Teachers that actually care if students want a lesson. National Education Commission on Time and Learning found that most American students spend less than half their day actually studying academic subjects do you know what that is? students spend more time in their day doing worthless things that wont profit them anything. We just need to have a stronger student teacher relationship. I dont know how or when its going to happen but these school systems and educational teaching just needs to get better. The students and teacher relation ship is pathetic, there are seldom teachers who bond with students, and those teachers that do are the ones that students often get the highest grade for. Not because of the kindness of the teacher but because of the respect and friendship the student has with the teacher. Those are the kind of teachers we need, and those are the teachers we should get. There are teachers who can teach but lack the drive and the motion to get students involved and interested in the lesson. Thats why students dont go to school. "School is boring" is the excuse used for not going to school. Americas education is failing because of the realtionship between students and teachers.
The modern American educational system is filled with an assortment of problems, and a great portion of American students are not learning much at all. Most students are graduating with less knowledge and capability than similar students in other industrialized countries. Classroom disruptions are now surprisingly common, school violence has become an unrestrained manner, and the importance of a proper education is not being stressed enough. In many cases, it seems that the problems in American schools are related to political differences, inability to make important decisions about the future education, lack of respect, and behavior from students, and the issue of cheating in schools and even the imbalance and potential unfairness of the grading system. Because of the way issues of political differences have infiltrated educational policy and decision-making, students are not being offered an ideal way of dealing with diversity or understanding how to manage differences. Inability to make important decisions on the areas of true immediate significant importance and value, leads to time being wasted and shortage in youths’ education. Most children inherit the behavior conducted in their homes and usually perform the same procedures at school. A student from a misled, disoriented home will most likely shows bad behavior in school, while a student from a strict, caring home will shows good behavior.
In general, the common approaches are to throw money at the problem, and to establish very broad guidelines and laws to solve each individual problems in the system. Regarding performance issues, the teachers and parents are generally blamed. To solve the problem better selection of teachers and teachers’ training should be considered, and more encouragement to the parents to support their children and direct them to the right path. Regarding violence, metal detectors and uninformed police officers roaming the halls are considered to be a common solution. Also the consequences for violence should be more severe. In addition, everyone demands newer, bigger, more advanced school complexes. No one says it will be an easy task to change the American educational system towards the better, but it’s not impossible. And once it’s not impossible, it clearly means something can be done. I personally believe that the educational system can be change and that there is hope for future generation yet to come.

This is a major problem and it should be fixed. Many young people dont't have a education now because of the negative influences they have around them and because of these negative influences, they tend to drop out of school. Some drop out to sell drugs, some drop out just because they see others dropping out, and some drop out because they feel like school is just a waste. They need that support so they can feel confident and succeed in what they do. Kids feel like education is not significant at all and its hard to change the way kids feel about that. The kids that feel this way start to cut school often, stay in the streets and other things that has nothing to do with school. Kids do what they want these days and there's really nothing much you can do about that. That's why i feel that the problem with American education cant be fixed.

I also believe its preventing them from training themselves educationally for there future; But if you were to ask a child or teenager what they wanted their career to be most would say something in the music business, or some other career that may get them rich and famous, because to them and almost every other child/teen in America it is about your status, and how well you socialize. I think besides electronic devices that kids in America care more about their reputation then their education. I believe this because if you was to visit any school you would see different “clicks” (group of people with different styles); and I am sure if you was to see them outside of the school together, they would not be studying they would probably be thinking about what to wear the next day. Some students think that skipping school or disrupting the class can bring their grades up. Well actually they do it because in their mind it is cool and to them school does not matter. And those same students either want to be a rapper/singer, dancer, or cause they already made their mind up that they was not going to attend college. It is also possible that the reason the United States is not one of the top school is because some students may not learn quickly as other students would. This brought the board of education to “dumb down the test”. This would bring the United States status and Students grades up, so if they were to fail the test that the board of education dumb down then they did not put any effort into it or was not paying attention. There are also ways to bring education scores up and it starts out with the parents showing their kids the step by step from now and how it will affect your life in the future so if they was to do good now then in the future you would not regret anything big, they would be able to make a good living.
I think that the United States comes last referring to education because, the schools, teachers, principals, parents etc.. aren’t strict enough, The Department of Education has to be more strict. In other countries their school policy is more strict. Some schools out of the United States still hit kids with rulers for doing the wrong thing. In the United States they do not have that privilege anymore. That’s one reason why the United States comes last in education – the schools aren’t too hard on the students. Another reason is because the students/kids are too busy doing other things and not paying attention in school. The United states have so many things for kids to do or so many things a kid think they can do. The students are focused and other things instead of education. The average teenager can, get a job, become a model, buy electronics and etc.. in other countries they don’t have that privilege. The untied states has more to offer other than school. So kids look forward to everything other than school. Since they have more to choose from they rather pick something else than to sit in a class for 8 hours and listen to things they don’t want to hear when they can go and get a job with pay with no degree or diploma. It obviously isn’t going to be a good job without those things. But since they can get that job with that education that they need, they rather for that job with minimum wage pay. In order to be fixed it think that the whole regulation of education has to be fixed or corrected. The schools district has to be more strict on the schools policy. The jobs they have to offer to teenagers may also have to be cut, just to make them realize that they are not going to get a job without their diploma or degree. The average teenager has been set in their own set of mind to believe that they can get some where in life without their education. Hey they probably can but most they are most likely to not succeed in life.
Kenmark Haynes America is one of the richest countries they are. Unfortunately America is one of the laziest countries they are too. In other countries education is the number one priority, because they know that education is the key to success. Kids in America waste their education because they are more spoiled than other kids in different countries. This is a huge problem that needs to be fixed as soon as possible. Another reason American education rate is dropping, is because of teachers. They are a lot of teachers that come into work and don’t care about the students at all. All of those bad teachers just care about their paychecks. That’s not fair to the students that attend schools. With teachers coming into those schools and not caring, classes become more disruptive and uncontrollable, which causes kids not to learn anything. I think that the education system should find teacher who are compassionate about teaching. Then, kids are not going to be able to talk and play around the whole entire class time. They are going to be able to learn from the teacher without any problems at all. Just as how teachers can be a fault in America education rate dropping kids can also be a fault too. Education is not the first priority for most American kids. Kids are too unfocused by other things that are going on. Some kids would skip school and do other things that they find important to them. They take their education for granted and don’t see that it’s something that can make them a successful person in life. Which in other countries children don’t have it as good as children in America, so they make their education their number one priority to become wealthy when they get older. To fix that problem schools and parents needs to become stricter and have consequences for when they see that a kid is not caring about their education. When parents and schools see when a kid is not caring about school there should be a big consequence. Also drill into their heads that’s an education is extremely important. When you drill something into a kids head they might not take it in the first time or even second time but they will eventually understand that having an education is important to have.
Technology and capital in the United States is becoming more significant as the years progress. Because of the numerous amounts of technological communication devices and methods in America, and the economic limitations to have access to a better type of schooling, American students are being deterred away from what is truly important: education. The internet is like a universal key; it opens all doors to information that some people can not find otherwise. The internet is used for two purposes which are for, information and communication. An individual can find a lot of information on the internet. The information may vary from historical leaders to current events. The internet is also commonly used for communication purposes. For example, on current applications for jobs or even purchasing an item at particular stores, an email address is needed. Another way to communicate on the internet is popular social networks like www.Facebook.com, and www.twitter.com. Having a twitter account or facebook account almost seems ubiquitous for teenagers. Social networks are persistently being used by teenagers everyday. Communication has become a number one asset to an average teenager’s life. Phone conversations are now replaced by skype and by the popular website: www.oovoo.com (which is a type of skype). Communication is not bad unless a teenager lets the technology and need to communicate and socialize with their peers manifest their entire being, therefore allowing the internet to become the most important part of their life, while neglecting their educational needs. Technology and the advancement of social networking are to blame for America’s education success rate. “Is technology the only thing to blame for America’s low educational success rate?” After the recession, money has become an economic quagmire towards supporting students financially in their education. Some students’ scholarships were canceled because of the recession. Receiving a college scholarship has become more difficult than it has been years ago. Another issue is the popular MTA case with threats of canceling the student metro card program. Although the student metro card program was not cut out yet, the MTA still considered getting rid of the program because they were below budget. The student’s education was not their priority and the money seemed more important than education. This problem can be fixed if America’s youth can realize that education is very significant to a better life and convincing other people who help contribute or support students to put the students’ needs first, and then worry about money.
Whats wrong wwith America's Education system? what i belive is wrong with the american school system is that the kids dont take school seriously. they think its jus a joke. some kids need to be challenged but certains schools or teachers dont give kids the challenges they need or want so this is why kids dont talk school seriously.America takes the learning process slow which i think dumbs the kids down.what i think needs to be is that schools should offer faster or more challenging work to students who want or nneed them instead of keeping them where they dont need to be. In China and Trinidad most kids are out of school by 15 and 16 beause there learning standards are higher and they dont slow down the process of many years for no reason. they are more strict and the kids are reprmandid if they dont do things correctly or follow rules. Point blank America needs to step up their standards and help kids that need help and push on those who are father ahead.
There are a few reasons why education in the United States are low. There are many distraction for kids such as video games, television, Internet, etc instead of reading more books or studying for a test/quiz they have the next day. In the youth population it's about society and not about education. Most teenagers focus on fashion, relationships, and trying new experiments instead education. I will also have to say the career we have in the United States are also why education is low. If you ask most teenagers what the career they want to be in, it's most likely in the entrainment business such as model, singer, dancer, actress, etc. So because of this careers, you don't need that much education to become one of these. Instead you need more talent & "beauty" according to the real world.

If you pick up most magazines, it has a celebrity that most teens thinking that they are rich, beautiful, and have a great life or the magazine had a model who is mostly white, skinny, and blond hair. This is what America think of "beauty". It's also on television with models and this tell teenagers this is what you have to be if you want to be a model. This send teenagers to have low-esteem for themselves, depression, extreme dieting and exercise, etc.
Most Americans are selfish and they care more about there appearance then they do with their education. They want things to be handed to them without working hard and especially if your more of a dark skin tone, you have to work extra hard because we live in a racist country even to this day. Ever since this America became what it is today, blacks was treated less then any other race because of our ancestors who was slaves. They fought and died for us just for us to get out of slavery and also to learn to read and write. Now that we can go to school and learn the things we couldn't learn years ago, teens/kids abuse it because we can learn these things. however, we are too ignorant and lazy. We fail to see how long it took us blacks to be where we are today and to see how much our ancestors did for us.
Most kids don't want to go to school because they don't think that the simple things in school can be used later on in life and mostly in college and the career you want to have. Most kids think school is boring and a waste of time. Knowledge is power and that what will help you always in life and not just dropping out of school and thinking you will have a stable job. As we know in this economy, it's difficult to keep a job or to even find one.
I believe this problem can't be fixed because of the negativity that is put on to our country. This country have enough problems as it is and one problem us kids/teenagers can fixed is going to school and be dedicated to learn. We don't think long term of how our life who be without education because we focus on our present.

ReplyDeleteOh there are so many things I have to say for the topic. Our system is probably the worst system in the world. There are tons of things wrong with it and there are a couple reasons to blame. I would probably blame some of the teachers for some school issues. If you became a teacher just to teach kids who have rich parents or just want preppy kids to teach that are already smart, you are a horrible teacher to me. I believe teachers should make students strive to learn more and get them interested in education and what they want to become when they grow up. Teachers should also care about their student’s grades instead of just giving them a sheet of paper and telling them “Do this.”
The Government should also talk in more consideration in children’s education. The price of getting into college is incredible high and considering this economies poverty it will probably increase. Most kids are probably really smart, but can’t get into college due to budget unless they get financial aid.
Another thing is electronically entertainment. Many kids in the US are distracted by TV, video games, and phones. It’s ok to do things every now and then, but kids really have to make sure they balance school and entertainment. With technology advancing each year, more and more kids get hooked in it. Technology should mostly be in schools to help kids get into the new generation.
Another thing would probably be wars. Many kids can get affected if their parents weren’t sent to war, it can really affect them. Like the Vietnam War, many kids pretty much lost themselves if they died, got sick, or was seriously wounded. The government should really think more when it comes to wars and drafting people.
The next thing is also affect is bulling in school. Pretty much 100% of schools have bullies. Schools don’t ever do anything about bullies or just barely punishes which cause students to loss confidence in themselves. Some bullies even threaten kids by beating them up or even stealing kids lunch money so they don’t have nutrients during lunch time. This problem really needs to be fix because this affects every school!
To get many services in the United States of America money is needed. Though we have public schools which allow children to go to school without their parents paying for it, but the money has to come from some were. Taxes help pay for public schools and the government has a budget for every school depending on the test results. If the scores are not as good as they are supposed to be the budget drops. We have to figure out why test scores go down. There can be many possibilities. The children may be slower than the rest of the class; they may have a behavior problem. A glitch in the learning process may also be that the teacher is not doing their job correctly or their teaching habits may not fit the whole class. There are many circumstances that can affect the test scores of students. When the scores keep declining the government and the board of education would probably be left to two decisions. They would cut the budget down or dumb down the test. When they dumb down the test they are disabling the kids to learn and work to their fullest potential. They are not pushing the kids to do better than what they can. Another reason for the draw back in education of America can be that kids take their education for granted because it is free. In America there are private schools where you have to pay for an education but when parents or guardians cannot make ends meet they can just take their kid out of the private school and put them into a public school. Either way their child can still get an education. In other countries gratis education is not offered. Some families cannot send all their kids to school and others cannot even afford to send only one child to school. To families with those circumstances their children worship and are extremely grateful for the education they are able to receive. The kids do not skip school or disrupt the class. They concentrate on completing there work and getting the education their parents paid for. Right now, it is hard to see many solution to this problematic situation.
ReplyDeleteAn unexpected conversation came up between my two friends and my biology teacher. She started talking about how my friend and I could do something about the controversy. Her idea was to have parents and guardians pay for education for their children so that children and as well as adults can be more appreciative of a free education. If there is no gratis education parents or guardians would start urging their children or push them harder to get an education. If this is done for a few years, the education advancement might be as good as other country’s.

ReplyDeleteI believe the United States education is doing so poorly because students are constantly arriving to school late, missing a numerous amount of school days, or dropping out because they claim they cant deal with all the school work and homework. Schools need teachers who can control the students in their classrooms, teachers who are organized and know what they are teaching. As Christal said students have way to many distractions. They have electronic devices such as cell phones, iPods, and video games. They would rather play games instead of get their education. But not all students are the same. Some students are dedicated to getting their education. And some students don’t care at all. Those students who don’t care about their education are the ones who make everyone else’s learning experience harder and more complex. I think they should make some type of rule or something to separate those who don’t do anything and those who actually do want their education. Another possibility of students behavior is the people they hang around with. Some of those people can be a bad influence. They encourage them to do things that they aren’t suppose to be doing. And the consequences of those actions are really bad. Kids are also worrying about other things then their education. They worry about what they wear, where and what they are going to do, and yet they want to have good careers. But the key to success is to graduate both high school and college with good grades. Some people want to become doctors, lawyers, police officers etc. but with the way they are doing in school ; they wont get anywhere. The U.S should come up with a way to make schools better, and ways to keep students interested in going to school everyday.
American education has changed a lot over the years and it has not changed for the good. Kids have lost their drive to do anything that has to deal with school, weather it deals with doing homework, extra credit work, or just even trying to make an attempt to go to school. But I’m in no position to judge since some days I don’t like to go to school myself at times, but since my mother wants me to get my education I am one of those kids who are going to school. I believe the reason for Americas’ education being so bad is mainly due to the government. The government has placed so many laws on the kids of today which is basically trying to force and shove education down there throats. For example in New York State a law has been passed stating that kids that take the state test in middle school and elementary school must pass the test or they will be held back a grade. So this is telling me that you want to scare kids into learning which may work for others and then again some kids may not care at all. Also, recently President Obama wants to make the school year one month longer, instead of ending school in June he wants school to end in JULY!!! That’s just making things even worst. Kids will just have another reason to not go to school and some parents may feel the same way as their child and they may not send they child to school. To fix this problem maybe the government should relax…take a deep breath…and just let kids learn and parents who listen to their child when they say they don’t want to go to school they need to become more strict with their kids. If that means walking them to school in the morning or even joining the schools PTA to make sure they stay in school helps. This helps keep them in school and then this gives their teachers a better chance to help develop theirs and help to improve on their weaknesses. If America would just let kids do what they are capable to do and not forcing them to learn new things then we wouldn’t be one of the worst countries in education, but who am I to say, I’m just a student myself and this is only my opinion…

I think that children do not know the value of education and they only know that if they don’t go they will be picked up by truancy and their parents will be charged with neglect. So they go to school and they act like it’s the worst place in the world. I don’t understand why you wouldn’t want to get an education. If these kids were smart they would understand that if they did exceptionally good they could get out of school, and never have to see the inside of another school building in their life. Instead they act up get suspended and have to spend more time in a building they would rather not be in. I know that my mother and father want me to make something out of myself so I know that I have to get through high school, and college, and graduate school.
ReplyDeleteI also think that students don’t value their education because it’s FREE! Do you think that students in Japan act like they have no common sense? I would definitely say no. They know that if they do they would be disgracing their parents and they do not want to do that. The kids in America do not care about their parent’s feelings. They only care about their wallets and what’s coming out of it. I think that if parents had to pay for their kids to go to school they would be much more strict on their kids. I don’t think they would want them to go to school and waste their money. The parents would make sure that their children brought home good grades, if not the kids would just get in trouble.
The teachers also play a part in the system also. They need to be stricter when it comes to unruly students. Stop playing games with these children. If they want to behave like little children then treat them like kids. If you need to start suspending kids then suspend them. If they are threatening other student’s educations then they deserve to be thrown out of the classroom. Why should we have to endure their foolishness, just because they care nothing about school? Some teachers could learn to lighten up a little bit; it’s your job to teach but not to be a drill sergeant. Students want to be able to know that they can depend on their teachers as an older friend. I don’t know what is going to happen to the school system but it does need to change.
I think the education is so low in the United States simply because education doesn’t come first. Instead of homework and test scores kids nowadays focus on other things such as gangs fashion or video games. For example students constantly come late to school like instead of worrying about arriving school early kids focus on going to the store in the morning. But the students are not the only ones to blame kids drop out of school or don’t come to school daily because they make it hard for most of the student to graduate. Like all the regents midterms and other promotion requirements, this makes students feel as if he cannot handle all the pressure of the work and make them want to drop out. The United States ranks 18 among the world’s industrial nations. I think this is because these other nations put education first and it is more important to them than any thing else.

I think to fix this problem the schools should do things that the students enjoy or take interest in. like students could use more technology like computers to do work in class. Instead of a student being on a cell phone and texting in class they can be on a laptop actively engaging in the lesson because student are always on twitter facebook and other websites computers must be something that they have a interest in. I also think the students in the united states should know the value and importance of a education if they only knew the things you could become and achieve in life would take education more seriously and make something out of what has been given to them. I think that the state should make it less hard to graduate. If they do this more students may want to come to school instead of be late Rome the streets and get suspended.
In my own opinion i think that the american education has taken a turn for the worse. When other countries think of an american education, they would think that we had the a low tolerance for failing but we as american students know very well that it isn't true. We have always fell below the standards in subjects including math and geography. They basically lowered the standards for the regents every year so the state can get the test results they desire but how much can they lower the standards before we realized that they are doing us injustice? Parents should take more responsibility to set a solid educational foundation and get the child more aware of the importance of education. Its either the teachers are not doing his/her job or student doesn't find it interesting enough to even listen to anything the teacher has to say. We have one of the highest rate for teenage drop outs yet we see teens on youtube and other sites doing amazing things that would help them get the success they want but still get an education. The problem is that there are those certain teachers who completely ignore the bad students and focus on who they "think" will be somebody in life. Lets face the ugly truth which is many students have lost interest in school so they figure "whats the point of staying in school with teachers naggging you and all this work". The bad part about this is that the students who want to learn are affected by this as well. When u think about it they become influenced by such behavior so it becomes like a cycle. When this happens, you have parents who will protest and press the board of education but u have to wonder what can the board of education really do? They can make the test easier, urge the teachers to make the curiculum more fun, they can even take survey on what they should change but all this comes down to is the student themselves. The individuals that they do all this work for. No one is to blame but us, the students because we put all the hard work to waste and for what to be free? No one can survive in this world with an education so whats the sense of dropping out. We do have to commends those few teachers who reach out to the student and keep them in school and lead them to a better future.

Kids come to school late everyday instead of coming in early or they are skipping class, the students do not understand that they can not get a proper job in the real world without an education, kids think that going to the corner store, hanging out on the street corner or listening to music is more important but the people who made the music kids listen to when to school, the people who own the corner school did not go to school enough to get a proper job and if kids stay on the corner and don’t go to school they will end up living on that corner. To fix the education system the teacher and staff should find ways to make sure the students come to school on time so they can learn something, make sure that kids are doing the work in class and make it more entertaining so the kids would do the work instead of distracting the other kids who are trying to learn. Teachers and staff should find a suitable way to punish the misbehaved kids. The Kids need to realize that the regent’s exam that they think is hard and also a reason why they are doing horrible in school is being shorten to fit the passing rate for the school and so the kids can pass and move on to the next grade. Students do not understand that teachers are hear to help us learn and be ready for the real world, teachers do not have to be in school to teach us if they don’t want to because if your not learning it’s not their problem to teach you. Students need to do what they have to do to pass and get the education they need to survive in this world or if not then they should not come to school at al because they are distracting the kids who are trying to make something of themselves.

ReplyDeleteI believe that the problem with American education is mostly the students being taught. Because there are a lot of young parents in this day and age, and parents who were teenage parents, they did not learn how to value education. Some did not get the chance to finish school and obtain a FULL education. Another problem with today's youth and them not valuing education as much as students from foreign countries do, is the fact that education is always available to the youth of this country. Kids in other countries do not have the same opportunities as we do, and if they do, it is very difficult to obtain them. We know that education is almost always available here in the U.S., but whether or not we take advantage of it is our choice. The fact that most of our youth is not motivated to learn and obtain an education is bad on the part of the parents of the youth that do not want to learn. Parents are not instilling the value of education into their children, and that results in kids my age and younger skipping class as well as dropping out of school because they do not have the desire to learn. When parents are relatively tough on their children about education, those are the kids who really want to learn and grow up and be successful. Most of the problem is in High School students. I think it’s a shame that our dropout rate is higher than our math and reading scores. Our country should not be in that position. I also find it unbelievable that kids from other countries come to the U.S. to obtain a good education and their scores are better than those students who were born here and have attended school here since birth. I do not think it is necessarily the educational system that is the problem, it’s just the students who do not wish to learn. If 80% of student in this country out of 100% really strived to obtain a good education, then the U.S. would not be ranked so low in reading and math scores. If parents instilled the will and determination to learn in their children, then the dropout rate would decrease incredibly fast. If people would value education and see its importance, U.S. would be ranked # 1 once more.

For example, a boy at the age of 16 can be smoking marijuana and he can easily influence a 14 year old into getting into the habit with words. he can say something like " just try it this time, you wont get addicted." Just that easy the boy falls into the trap and becomes a steady smoker.
Many Teenagers Depend On popularity because they are insecure and strive for attention. They Become Class Clowns or school-wide rebels trying to impress people that are either living the same lifestyle or not even paying them any attention.
A Racist Mind would think its only in Majority African AMerican Neighborhoods or the "Ghetto", but its everywhere throughout america. Most americans are materialistic and money hungry so they only care about their appearance. They dont care about their upcoming midterms they care about what their going to wear to school that day.
Another reason why american education fails is because of Gang Related Activity. Many Teenage Boys get caught up in Gang violence. They base their life on the color of their flag and not their intellect. They fight for the respect of their flag to gain a higher status under an idiotic mind of the man they call OG or Big HOmie or whatever the title is.
My opinion is that their is no solution to this problem because the people of america are already accustomed to this negative lifestyle. They believe their going to make it somewhere by hustling and stealing. They care about what their going to wear or who their going to rob and not about the hard-work that many people put in to get them to where they are today. They dont understand the horrors that we could have possibly still been facing if it wasn't for education.

Well there are many reasons why American schools are not as high as a level as other countries. One reason is that there are too many distractions in America. Most kids when the come home from school they don’t go and do there homework, they go and play around. Then they end up leaving the homework to the last minute making it not as good as it could have been or they end up not doing all together. Another reason is that American children don’t read enough. There are kids that read a lot in America, but not as much as other country’s do. Another reason that most kids in America have low attention spans. Which is another reason why a lot of kids don’t read a lot. One of the main reasons that American schools are as not as high level as school in other country’s is because most schools in other country’s have school six days a week, and also some are all year school. Kids in America get Saturday and Sundays off and they get a lot more vacation days than a lot of other country’s. This leaves space in kids learning so they forget what they did before vacation. Which brings the point of summer vacation. Summer vacation is the longest vacation we get and kids forget a lot over the summer. This is why in a lot of other country’s kids don’t have this. But there are things we can do to make America a have higher schooling system. One option is that they make more school to make for lost time on vacations. I know they cannot cut out vacations so why not make more school hours. Another alternative is having kids read a lot more in school. I don’t kids are doing enough reading and if don’t read If they don’t want to read in school then they wont want to go to the library and pick up a book and read. One more alternative to solving the problem is trying to teach in a way to catch the children’s interest. Boring classes make kids not want to learn. These are some soultions to the problem at hand. But unless we do something America will stay at the bottom of the education list.

While other kids in other countries actually do understand how important school is. Also there are many teachers in the American culture that also do not take their job or teaching seriously so therefore neither will the student . A lot of teachers do not take the time out to explain and make the students actually want to be in school. Also America is so caught up in wars and politics, etc that the American education system is falling apart right in front of their eyes. To fix this problem i believe that there really is no solution because american teens already have this mind set and u cannot make someone have an entire different mentality towards something unless they want to change it. There are so many distractions within the american culture that many do not place education in their prioritied. so as a whole so actually make an impact and/or change in the problem we have to encourage one another to make the change and not take education for advantage.

I have heard teachers say numerous times that they don't care if students don't want to listen, and at the end of the day they are the ones getting paid. You see most people say its the students fault but if there is a teacher who can actually teach and make it fun then students would want to learn. Now in some cases there are actually students who don't care about anything and just wont come at all. There are teachers that just come in and do nothing.But we cant just blame teachers, students play the major role in this system. American children are too influenced with video games, drugs, television and just fitting into a crowd that they begin to loose interest in school.
ReplyDeleteThis problem can be fixed by hiring teachers that want to teach and not those who just have a degree. Teachers that actually care if students want a lesson. National Education Commission on Time and Learning found that most American students spend less than half their day actually studying academic subjects do you know what that is? students spend more time in their day doing worthless things that wont profit them anything. We just need to have a stronger student teacher relationship. I dont know how or when its going to happen but these school systems and educational teaching just needs to get better. The students and teacher relation ship is pathetic, there are seldom teachers who bond with students, and those teachers that do are the ones that students often get the highest grade for. Not because of the kindness of the teacher but because of the respect and friendship the student has with the teacher. Those are the kind of teachers we need, and those are the teachers we should get. There are teachers who can teach but lack the drive and the motion to get students involved and interested in the lesson. Thats why students dont go to school. "School is boring" is the excuse used for not going to school. Americas education is failing because of the realtionship between students and teachers.
The modern American educational system is filled with an assortment of problems, and a great portion of American students are not learning much at all. Most students are graduating with less knowledge and capability than similar students in other industrialized countries. Classroom disruptions are now surprisingly common, school violence has become an unrestrained manner, and the importance of a proper education is not being stressed enough. In many cases, it seems that the problems in American schools are related to political differences, inability to make important decisions about the future education, lack of respect, and behavior from students, and the issue of cheating in schools and even the imbalance and potential unfairness of the grading system. Because of the way issues of political differences have infiltrated educational policy and decision-making, students are not being offered an ideal way of dealing with diversity or understanding how to manage differences. Inability to make important decisions on the areas of true immediate significant importance and value, leads to time being wasted and shortage in youths’ education. Most children inherit the behavior conducted in their homes and usually perform the same procedures at school. A student from a misled, disoriented home will most likely shows bad behavior in school, while a student from a strict, caring home will shows good behavior.
ReplyDeleteIn general, the common approaches are to throw money at the problem, and to establish very broad guidelines and laws to solve each individual problems in the system. Regarding performance issues, the teachers and parents are generally blamed. To solve the problem better selection of teachers and teachers’ training should be considered, and more encouragement to the parents to support their children and direct them to the right path. Regarding violence, metal detectors and uninformed police officers roaming the halls are considered to be a common solution. Also the consequences for violence should be more severe. In addition, everyone demands newer, bigger, more advanced school complexes. No one says it will be an easy task to change the American educational system towards the better, but it’s not impossible. And once it’s not impossible, it clearly means something can be done. I personally believe that the educational system can be change and that there is hope for future generation yet to come.
As you know, when it comes to education the United States is far from first place. Their are less people with an education than people without an education. This is a major problem and it should be fixed. Many young people dont't have a education now because of the negative influences they have around them and because of these negative influences, they tend to drop out of school. Some drop out to sell drugs, some drop out just because they see others dropping out, and some drop out because they feel like school is just a waste. American education is getting worser and worse each year. Many young teenagers feel like they to good for school and when they drop out of school, they do nothing with their life. They think that they can be successful without school because of what people tell them but that's not true at all. Another thing that's making American education go wrong is when teenagers have kids and they don't really know what they doing and these kids end up starting school late. Also, because they have to finish school theirself. Another reason why American education is going wrong is because some kids don't have any support or encouragement especially from their parents. They need that support so they can feel confident and succeed in what they do. Kids feel like education is not significant at all and its hard to change the way kids feel about that. The kids that feel this way start to cut school often, stay in the streets and other things that has nothing to do with school. Kids do what they want these days and there's really nothing much you can do about that. That's why i feel that the problem with American education cant be fixed.
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to education the United States is far from first place. The reason to this is because, there are a lot of distractions. There are distractions like television, iPods, games, friends, and many more that can make the kids/teens distracted. I believe that these things are stopping them from sitting down and studying. I also believe its preventing them from training themselves educationally for there future; But if you were to ask a child or teenager what they wanted their career to be most would say something in the music business, or some other career that may get them rich and famous, because to them and almost every other child/teen in America it is about your status, and how well you socialize. I think besides electronic devices that kids in America care more about their reputation then their education. I believe this because if you was to visit any school you would see different “clicks” (group of people with different styles); and I am sure if you was to see them outside of the school together, they would not be studying they would probably be thinking about what to wear the next day. Some students think that skipping school or disrupting the class can bring their grades up. Well actually they do it because in their mind it is cool and to them school does not matter. And those same students either want to be a rapper/singer, dancer, or cause they already made their mind up that they was not going to attend college.
ReplyDeleteIt is also possible that the reason the United States is not one of the top school is because some students may not learn quickly as other students would. This brought the board of education to “dumb down the test”. This would bring the United States status and Students grades up, so if they were to fail the test that the board of education dumb down then they did not put any effort into it or was not paying attention. There are also ways to bring education scores up and it starts out with the parents showing their kids the step by step from now and how it will affect your life in the future so if they was to do good now then in the future you would not regret anything big, they would be able to make a good living.
I think that the United States comes last referring to education because, the schools, teachers, principals, parents etc.. aren’t strict enough, The Department of Education has to be more strict. In other countries their school policy is more strict. Some schools out of the United States still hit kids with rulers for doing the wrong thing. In the United States they do not have that privilege anymore. That’s one reason why the United States comes last in education – the schools aren’t too hard on the students. Another reason is because the students/kids are too busy doing other things and not paying attention in school. The United states have so many things for kids to do or so many things a kid think they can do.
ReplyDeleteThe students are focused and other things instead of education. The average teenager can, get a job, become a model, buy electronics and etc.. in other countries they don’t have that privilege. The untied states has more to offer other than school. So kids look forward to everything other than school. Since they have more to choose from they rather pick something else than to sit in a class for 8 hours and listen to things they don’t want to hear when they can go and get a job with pay with no degree or diploma. It obviously isn’t going to be a good job without those things.
But since they can get that job with that education that they need, they rather for that job with minimum wage pay. In order to be fixed it think that the whole regulation of education has to be fixed or corrected. The schools district has to be more strict on the schools policy. The jobs they have to offer to teenagers may also have to be cut, just to make them realize that they are not going to get a job without their diploma or degree. The average teenager has been set in their own set of mind to believe that they can get some where in life without their education. Hey they probably can but most they are most likely to not succeed in life.

ReplyDeleteAmerica is one of the richest countries they are. Unfortunately America is one of the laziest countries they are too. In other countries education is the number one priority, because they know that education is the key to success. Kids in America waste their education because they are more spoiled than other kids in different countries. This is a huge problem that needs to be fixed as soon as possible.
Another reason American education rate is dropping, is because of teachers. They are a lot of teachers that come into work and don’t care about the students at all. All of those bad teachers just care about their paychecks. That’s not fair to the students that attend schools. With teachers coming into those schools and not caring, classes become more disruptive and uncontrollable, which causes kids not to learn anything.
I think that the education system should find teacher who are compassionate about teaching. Then, kids are not going to be able to talk and play around the whole entire class time. They are going to be able to learn from the teacher without any problems at all.
Just as how teachers can be a fault in America education rate dropping kids can also be a fault too. Education is not the first priority for most American kids. Kids are too unfocused by other things that are going on. Some kids would skip school and do other things that they find important to them. They take their education for granted and don’t see that it’s something that can make them a successful person in life. Which in other countries children don’t have it as good as children in America, so they make their education their number one priority to become wealthy when they get older.
To fix that problem schools and parents needs to become stricter and have consequences for when they see that a kid is not caring about their education. When parents and schools see when a kid is not caring about school there should be a big consequence. Also drill into their heads that’s an education is extremely important. When you drill something into a kids head they might not take it in the first time or even second time but they will eventually understand that having an education is important to have.
Technology and capital in the United States is becoming more significant as the years progress. Because of the numerous amounts of technological communication devices and methods in America, and the economic limitations to have access to a better type of schooling, American students are being deterred away from what is truly important: education.

The internet is used for two purposes which are for, information and communication. An individual can find a lot of information on the internet. The information may vary from historical leaders to current events. The internet is also commonly used for communication purposes. For example, on current applications for jobs or even purchasing an item at particular stores, an email address is needed. Another way to communicate on the internet is popular social networks like www.Facebook.com, and www.twitter.com. Having a twitter account or facebook account almost seems ubiquitous for teenagers. Social networks are persistently being used by teenagers everyday. Communication has become a number one asset to an average teenager’s life. Phone conversations are now replaced by skype and by the popular website: www.oovoo.com (which is a type of skype). Communication is not bad unless a teenager lets the technology and need to communicate and socialize with their peers manifest their entire being, therefore allowing the internet to become the most important part of their life, while neglecting their educational needs. Technology and the advancement of social networking are to blame for America’s education success rate.

After the recession, money has become an economic quagmire towards supporting students financially in their education. Some students’ scholarships were canceled because of the recession. Receiving a college scholarship has become more difficult than it has been years ago. Another issue is the popular MTA case with threats of canceling the student metro card program. Although the student metro card program was not cut out yet, the MTA still considered getting rid of the program because they were below budget. The student’s education was not their priority and the money seemed more important than education.
This problem can be fixed if America’s youth can realize that education is very significant to a better life and convincing other people who help contribute or support students to put the students’ needs first, and then worry about money.
Whats wrong wwith America's Education system? what i belive is wrong with the american school system is that the kids dont take school seriously. they think its jus a joke. some kids need to be challenged but certains schools or teachers dont give kids the challenges they need or want so this is why kids dont talk school seriously.America takes the learning process slow which i think dumbs the kids down.what i think needs to be is that schools should offer faster or more challenging work to students who want or nneed them instead of keeping them where they dont need to be. In China and Trinidad most kids are out of school by 15 and 16 beause there learning standards are higher and they dont slow down the process of many years for no reason. they are more strict and the kids are reprmandid if they dont do things correctly or follow rules. Point blank America needs to step up their standards and help kids that need help and push on those who are father ahead.
